Thread: Custom holsters

  1. #1

    Default Custom holsters

I edited the original post. I posted this a couple other places and people mistook it for an ad. Don't want that to happen here. I am really looking for feedback on these holsters I made. These were for myself or family members. Certainly if someone is interested, PM me. But I would really like for input from other members on the forum about what they think of the quality and options presented. Thanks

Pancake that can be worn OWB or IWB with metal clips. They go in the holes below the belt loops

    leather/kydex IWB

Pocket holster than can be worn IWB with single metal belt clip

This last on was for a P11, but I'm making one for myself soon. Its the same pancake design as above for OWB or IWB but its kydex on the front and leather on the back.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

It looks like decent work. The top OWB/IWB looks nice and compact but with the leather being so small you won't get much adjustability on cant. Is it affordable to make these yourself? I've always been interested in trying. Some DIY pics might be pretty cool as well.

Thanks! What do you mean about the leather being too small?

I have made this holster again and have more pics if interested.

It takes some stuff to get started, after that its pretty affordable. It depends on how many you want to make.

I meant the difference between the distance of the muzzle and clip on the kydex holster and where it would be on the leather holster. If you want to cant the gun forward with the leather one the clip might hit the pistol. It's just me being not picky :P. have you considered trying a leather iwb with an offset single clip? Also I'm an idiot, totally overlooked the fact that your pocket holster can do that!

I think I see what you mean. The problem with small pistols is that the clip is longer than the distance from the end of the muzzle to the trigger guard. The holster ends up being longer just to fit the clip.

I have thought about the single clip. The light brown holster has a hole for that. Is that what you had in mind?

I have also thought about a single clip kydex and leather iwb.

Hey man... I really appreciate your feedback. Thats why I posted. Keep it coming.

Nice looking holsters! That leather/kydex OWB is interesting.
    Very interesting...

The leather kydex is a pain! Its fast draw, but bonding the two and finishing nicely is tough. I tried to make one for my glock 30 and turned it into an iwb only.

Ha yeah I see what you mean. Yes the tan one is what I was basically suggesting. An offset clip sometimes helps lower the profile of the iwb. I bet it's all a learning experience but definitely looks fun to try.

Here are a few new ones I made for Kahr pistols. Both these models were purchased by Kahrtalk members. Thanks guys.

    3 slot pancake

    Single clip iwb

This can also be pocket carried. This is my EDC. Works good.
