Then on the forum, when posting, you choose Go advanced, and drop down to the Attachment Manager and browse or navigate to the folder on your computer that holds the new pictures and be sure to choose the correct-sized one each time by name, because the file list window pops back up to the first item in the file list every time and you might choose the mega-sized one and be waiting a while for it to upload. Oh yeah, you click on the file, then click "save", and then back in the attachment manager choose "Upload" this will take a few seconds if you did it correctly and the file will be listed in red and you can repeat as needed until you get the 5 files for one post.
I hope that this helps you. The pictures looked okay for thumbnails, but you can't zoom them up and see any detail. 120x160 or 160x120 is tiny!

Now the real size of the picture has not changed until you save it, so click on the save or little floppy icon up on the upper left of menu toolbar. The file will be saved and you can roll your mouse over the re-sized picture and see the file size on the little pop-up window.
Do this with each picture, remembering to rename the original and modify the newly-named one, unless you don't care about retaining an original copy(always a good idea --Murphy's alive and well).
If you want to crop the pix first, select that and then use the upper right down-triangle next to the X to drop down the menu on that window to choose another operation. After selecting OK to make the modification, don't forget to "Save" the new mod, and check that you did change the file's size.

Find your photos on the computer and right-click the mouse on the photo and choose "Open with", choose Microsoft Office Picture Manager and then you'll have that photo filling the screen. A good next step is to go to the upper left menu and choose "File", then "Save as...." Change the name to whatever, but a small description is better, and save this. Now select that new file by the name you gave it by using the right/left arrows at the bottom of the window. Check the file's name is correct and then click on "Edit Pictures..." in the middle of the upper menu.
Now with the menu to the right, the easiest thing is just to Resize under "Change Picture Size"
use the "Predefined width x height"
Choose the Web - Large (640 x 480 px) or whatever you want, but I talking about using it here on the forum's Attachment Manager. With Photobucket, you can use full size or at least a higher resolution like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768, to post more pictures in the allotted space.
    Then click on "OK".

OK, I get a little long-winded (HA!), but I'll try to tell you what I've been doing as far as editing the photos I take with regard to cropping or re-sizing -- lowering the resolution.
First take you photo using whatever resolution you want. Mine was 4000 by 3000 at 12 mega-pixels, which is totally unnecessary, and I set the camera resolution at 640 by 480 for direct posting to the forum for "thumbnails". This limits you to jpegs of 97.something KB, but the attachment manger on the forum will downsize it to below that size and you are limited to 5 "thumbnails" per post, hence multiple post are required for more than 5.

Frack! This thing only accepts 1000 words at a time. this will take FOUR messages to break this up!
