Default My .380 ACP Self-Defense Ammo

It's not that I don't have things to do, but I wanted to take and post some pictures of my .380 ammo for CCW.

    I have the following:

Winchester 95-gr Ranger "T"... easiest to shoot... light recoil.

Speer 90-gr Gold Dots... just bought and fired half a box for testing.

    Buffalo Bore 90-gr +P JHP... WOW! Like shooting 124-gr +P 9mm.

Buffalo Bore 90-gr +P Gold Dot JHP... newer version... Same WOW! Factor.

Buffalo Bore 95-gr +P Flat-nosed FMJ... same WOW! factor.

The Buffalo Bore ammo is the highest performance .380 tested with about 80 ft-lbs more muzzle energy than the Speer Gold Dots in the 2.5" Kahr P380 barrel.

See the testing by Ballistics by the Inch:

They even used a Kahr P380 in the updated .380 "real-wordl" testing.

If you can afford it, they accept donations and do GREAT work in their testing, which CONSUMES a lot of barrels and equipment, not counting the volume of ammunition used!

I'll post this and then some photos before I lose everything with a misplaced keystroke!

Since I got some newer Buffalo Bore 90-gr +P JHP, I've noticed that the bullet is different. It appears to be the CCI/Speer 90-grain Gold Dot. That's what prompted the photo comparison.

I don't like the humongous boxes that Buffalo Bore uses for ALL calibers... pistol and maybe some rifle ammo... don't know. So. I usually transfer the BB to 50-round boxes from other manufacturers. Their boxes are almost the same size as 12-gauge shot shell boxes of 25! The smaller boxes are easier to store!

They appear to use the same bullets, but FASTER!

A few more pictures with the Ranger "T", as well:

I carry the 90-gr +P "BB Gold Dots" in my P380. I guess I'll use the older version for range fodder, as needed.

    With 6+1+7 of those, I don't feel under-armed.
