Saying goodbye soon...
A few months ago I bought a Kel-Tec p3at for the wife to pocket carry. Unfortunately I bought the one that was made on Friday at 4pm and I have had nothing but trouble. Lots of problems out of the box...did the fluff n buff...tried different ammo...bought 3 extra mags to find one it likes. After all of that I have a pistol that functions well MOST of the time. Don't get me wrong this isnt a bashing post. I never sent the weapon to Kel-Tec to give them a chance to fix it. I decided to do it myself and in a way it was fun.
However, the pistol was for my wife and she just doesn't trust it. I DONT BLAME HER. So she ended up with a CM9 I feel so sorry for her
So I am shopping for a pistol for me. The CM/PM 9 are outstanding weapons BUT we have one, do we need two? I'm sure many will say yes but I am leaning toward no. The CM9 is THE BIGGEST as far as a pocket pistol should be IMHO. So I am looking for something the same size or smaller.
Any suggestions/thoughts??
Ruger LC9? Beretta BU9? DiamondBack DB9?

Let me put it to you like this, you like it right? Why not have another? My wife carries a CW45, and that was to prevent me from losing my P45 (I like that gun). I have heard many not so positive things about the DB. The Ruger (and I do love me some Rugers) is said to be not as nice to shoot, good gun, but not as nice, the Beretta is having some teething problems as well I hear. Your call. Of course you could get a CM40, or perhaps (I know I'm going to get some flame for this) but the Taurus slim series is pretty good to go, at least by me. Or you could get a CW40 (sorry that hatred of 9mm is rearing up again), and have options.

Lets see if I have read your logic correctly. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Your wife has a CM9. It works well. She trusts it. You need a new carry firearm. You don't want a CM9 because you already own one.
Am I missing something here?
Heck if you don't want another CM9, buy a tricked out PM9 or an MK9.
If it works, you know it works, you certainly know how to operate, strip down and mantain a Kahr, why take the chance on another brand?

jlott I hear ya on the 40. I started with thte 40's a looong time ago when dad bought me a 4006 S&W. I think we now own 8 or 10 pistols chambered in 40 including a G27. I have and still do carry the G27 and G23 but they are a little too big.
***You made me go look at Kahrs site and they show they are now shipping the CM40. I didn't see that before! Ummm that changes things quite a bit.

What Tinman said. You could upgrade to a PM9 with more options if you like, or just get you OWN CM9. You say that you have one... but it's your wife's. I just bought a P380 for my wife because I didn't want to let mine wind up in the trunk of her car for a Get Home gun!
Get your own gun! And get another Kahr that you know will work.

This might sound funny, but I mean it w/ all seriousness.
The question is not do you need another, but how many can you get?
If you've found something that works, that you really like, no reason to NOT buy more than one. I plan on owning mutiple P9s before it's all said and done. Parts can interchange if push comes to shove, same ammo, once you've found a reliable choice works in both, etc. Having common battery-of-arms, common ammo, common parts is never a bad thing and on the contrary is something I prefer. I might have a couple of calibers, but w/in those, I will stick to pretty much the same guns, or a most, same guns of same brand where some/all parts are in common (P9, TP9, PM9).
I say go for it, buy another CM, CW, or P and enjoy it.
If it weren't for lack of double-stack, my growing semi-auto collection would be all Kahr for the reasons mentioned above.

I agree, go with what works. I will say to stay away from Diamondback like the plague and the LC9 feels like a toy compared to the Kahr.

Kahr makes some of the very best pocket 9mm guns.
If you want something a little different?
Maybe a PM9 Black Rose?
I'm thinking the Wife will steal the Black Rose and you'll end up with the CM9.
Sounds like a Win Win to me LOL!
