Default Finish coming off barrel CW9

The finish is coming off the slide on my CW9. It is happening right where the slide is making contact to the barrel when the slide is pulled back. Normal? Covered under warranty?

It's not uncommon to see wear on that area of the barrel. My CW45 (top in photo, CW9 below it) has quite a bit more than yours is currently showing:

It will most likely begin to show some on the sides as well:

Regards,
Greg

I just polished mine. The matte finish polishes up pretty fast and easy. I just used a dremmel polishing wheel. Nice an shiny, doesn't show the wear points and it's smooth. Can't hurt in the slide operation either. At first I just did the chamber hood visible with the slide closed. Liked it so I just kept going and did the whole barrel.

Thats completely normal. Any auto barrel (specifically with the Browning Tilt action) will exhibit wear on the top and sides of the barrel hood as the underside of the slide will scrape any high spots off the hood. Its not really pretty, but its completely normal. Kahr might switch out your barrel if you complain about it, although the replacement barrel will develop it just as quickly.

Mine is the same way. As long as there isn't any peening you should be good to go.
