New Black Diamond P380 w/NS & Crimson Trace...
I picked up a black diamond P380 with night sights on sale at my local shop last week.
I had a P380 previously that ran great, but I sold it to fund another project.
I seriously wanted another uber-lightweight pocket carry gun, and so I hunted around until I got this one.
No pictures yet (sorry).
To prep this gun, I disassembled, fully cleaned it, reassembled, and then proceeded to rack the slide (with springs) 600 times. I disassembled, caked in some polishing compound in the rails of the frame and slide, and racked (no springs) another 250 times. Fully cleaned it all out, and lubed/greased heavily.
I can't wait to go shooting with it - I really think it's going to be a gem.
It's an RC5 serial number.
One thing I noticed that was interesting in the field stripping.. the interior profile of the slide stop, where it could come into contact with the magazine or bullets - has been heavily polished and rounded off. I will chalk this up to a good thing, that they did this at the factory to ensure function?
While very close - I cannot discern any contact between bullets and the slide stop. Also, the magazine follower does not hang up on the magazine release, which is good.
I installed a Crimson Trace Laserguard, and am ready to hit the range with it over the holidays, and enjoy some lightweight pocket carry!
