I bid a week ago on a Henry Golden Boy in 17 HMR for my son for Christmas. I asked right at first if they would provide a buy now price so I could expedite. No response. So I sit for a week, got up 2 hours early this morning to make sure nobody sniped me. I won, filled with joy!

Then I get an email that they don't have in stock, should arrive soon but if I want it for Christmas it ain't gonna happen.

I sent an email to see if I was still obligated to purchase since he lied thru his teeth, no response yet. I'm hotter than I've been in a long long time, gonna be an ugly day.

Here's the listing. Not the description. Wonder how long it takes to drive to CT so I can kick some tail.

Post a complaint to Gunbroker. Hopefully, they will partner with you on declining to go through with the order. Some GDs put a sentence in their ads saying a gun is on display in their store and might get sold. But there is no such wording in that ad. That seller needs a very bad rating posted against him!

I would contact Gun Broker, especially with the listing saying "Factory New in the Box, IN STOCK and ready to go." And the BBB, this is a legit store front that advertises as "one of Connecticut's largest gun dealers!" although I haven't heard of them until this complaint.

I found a blued big loop, option 2 with a buy now, sent a message to see if #1 He really has one, (he list 4) #2 If I buy now will it ship today if I get payment and FFL info to him now!

Jfootin, the Gallery of guns don't have the one I wanted, does have a 1600$ engraved one that would be nice but I'm alot short in the money dept.

An update-

I found a Blued Version with big loop and octagon barrel which we looked at pretty hard originally before setting on the Golden Boy.
I emailed the seller and asked if it could ship today if I did the buy now. He said if I called, and faxed FFL he would ship today. He's sending it overnight. Had a detective call for me (deaf) and everything is in the basket. Guy said he'd send a tracking number.
He's on the east coast, don't recall where exactly but he's aces in my book.

I'll keep ya posted as the saga continues.

I'm much relieved at this point and only feel the need to choke something due to normal work related stress. I can deal with that.

Ironic, that SR1911 is at the very tip top of my wish list and I can't find one either. I have several places letting me know the first one that hits town.
I think it will be worth the beating the wife gives me but I'm getting it, she can be mad while I'm extremely happy.

That's a 22 thetmanski, probably a good choice, cheaper to shoot, but he's been enamored with the 17 HMR of late. He got me a Savage 17HMR for my birthday last year which I love to pieces even though it's got a tupperware stock. It's nice and a real shooter too.
I need to just not wait so long especially on hard to find stuff.
It is indeed nice to have friends looking out for me too. Lots of gun sites I never heard of before.

I'm gonna surprise you someday nephew, I really am. I've already forgotten that you told everyone at the kids table at Thanksgiving that I should be on the Big Fat Loser. I'm sure it was meant as a joke anyhow.

I'm actually hoping for coal myself this year, I'm real short on firewood for the wood stove so a little coal might be warming.

Well you musta done something for your son, JFootin, because I got a shipping notice from Bud's this evening, checked the tracking and it says my gun is scheduled for early delivery by end of day tomorrow! So, if I can get together with my FFL dealer, I can have my 638 in hand tomorrow!

I didn't get a Golden Boy but I did get the Blued Big Loop Octagon barrel which we both liked almost as well. The guy on the east coast, don't recollect exactly where shipped it overnight and should be here today if everything works. After I ordered my pals here came through with some Golden Boys and Buds apparently did get some in but no way to get for Christmas, plus since this fella went out of his way to make it all happen I wasn't about to cancel the order and go someplace else.
So he'll get a blued version and probably be tickled. I know he'll be surprised cause I told him my poor luck and now he was getting socks and underwear.
Incidently he's apparently a chip off the old block, his first statement is how long does it take to get to CT so we can take the guy out!

I did score a coup from my semi local LE supplier. One of the guys wanted a Benelli Super Black Eagle II in left hand for his dad, just asked this morning and danged if I didn't luck out and they had one. It's marked sold and waiting for pickup so his dad who I know pretty well also is gonna be a happy hunter.
