After much research and lurking here, I picked up a PM9 in all black. Disassembled, and cleaned per the recommendations. I put a total 150 rds through so far without one single failure. Really liking this gun so far. I do have a question though. On the underside of the slide there is some rubbing. Being new to guns, I am not sure if this is normal. It was present even before the first shot. It is yellow in color, and I am thinking this is from the shell casings and is normal, but am not sure. Thanks for any input.

Welcome to KahrTalk.
I've not seen that on my PM9, new or otherwise. Will it rub/come off? I lot more knowledgeable folk than I will come along shortly and have an answer for you.

Never seen that on either of mine... try scrubbing it off and see if it comes back.

Gotta be normal, that pick up rail runs back and forth on the rounds in the mag. I generally clean it up and polish it a little bit to smooth things up some. It shouldn't hurt a thing and it should clean up with cleaner and a brass brush or similar effort.

looking at that long bar on the bottom of the slide it is called the interface bar and what ur seeing is just the surface finsih coming off hat bar. where ever there is some metal to metal contact there is going to be surface wear and by that I mean the finish is going to show some wear makrs. It is normal. they really don't DLC coat the insdie of the slide in the same thickness as the outside of the slide. > u hve 150 good rounds through the gun, just continue to shoot it like u stole it and enjoy the gun..
It is exactly what Bawanna stated...

Thanks guys. That makes me feel better. I am already planning on polishing the barrel with some flitz and a dremmel. Would you also recommend polishing that area too, or just leave it as is?

polish it, mine shines like a diamond in a goats ass. It was also the dlc finish.

Guess you can tell I am a real newbie......You don't know sore until you've shot 150 rounds with a Kel-Tec or the Ruger LCP.
It's OK to wear a glove during break-in. Another idea is the small rubber sleeves put on PM9s, they do wonders. You can make one from a bicycle inner tube. That little bit matters.

Be careful. Mom said it could cause blindness.
