This is my first post, so a brief introduction is in order. I have a Kahr P45 now, but have previously owned a P40. I shoot the Kahr better than most any other pistol I own. The P45 is my daily carry with a Kel-tec P3at and serves as my night stand gun as well.
So to the gist of this post - I am a NRA Instructor and Kahr offers a pretty nice discount on their product line to be used as instructional aides. You can't sell any pistol within 12 months of purchase and have to keep it in good condition.
I purchased a PM45 with night sights and an extra magazine for $527 shipped with a $20 transfer fee on my end. Having priced them I think I got a pretty good deal.
$410 - Pistol
$65 - night sights
$22 - magazine
$30 - shipping
The order form says 8-10 weeks and the fun shop says it never takes that long...
My question are -
1. Who else here has purchased through this program?
2. How long did it take to get it?

I know my FFL is an NRA instructor and said he got his P9 for $400. Made me want to persue my NRA Instructor Cert again.

Nobody's stiffing you, Notrega. I have seen posts from a couple of people that are or were instructors of some kind, but I cannot recall any of them being NRA instructors.

Did not intend to say anyone is stiffing me. :o
Most forums you bump a thread so that it stays near to top to get more views/replies. My apologies if I failed to follow protocol here, it doesn't seem this is a very busy forum, lots of good information though.

No apology necessary, if you bumped it an hour later that would be different.
Good luck getting your answers, free bump to the top lol.

Oh, I wasn't scolding you for bumping at all. I was just explaining that you might not find many NRA instructors here. Sorry if I made you feel like I was scolding you. :o Not my intention at all. :)

I purchased a PM9, black/black, w/night sights, and a extra mag through the NRA instructors program. Once the proper forms were sent in I had the gun within three weeks. There are a few restrictions on the resale and purchasing another gun within one year. It is a very generous discount. I do use my PM9 in the instructors class and I want every student to shoot it. I think everyone wins on this program. Thank you KAHR. I will be back in a few months for another gun.

I am also an NRA Instructor (Wisconsin Area). I picked up a PM9, black slide, night sights... took about 3-4 weeks to get. Turned another instructor onto it also, his took about the same amount of time.
I use the guns in every class i give and let anyone shoot them who desired to try them out.
I believe that you can order 1 handgun and 1 long-gun a year.....
The CW/CM's are not yet on the list.. maybe in 2012??

The pistol arrived today. I paid the shop and placed the order on 12/16. Kahr said they got it on the 23rd - 4 weeks to the day. :D
I won't be able to get to the range until this weekend but pics are on the way...

I am not a NRA certifed instructor but I have slept at the Holiday Inn, JFootin do u think this might get me in the door for a discount, I am though a certifed *******. I don't tend to wear that badge to often though, just asking if anyone has tried either of those two to see if it flys at Kahr..
That reminds me about 40 years ago I called an NRA instructor in Terre Haute and ask if he would give a NRA certifed class to a bunch of women if I could set i t up. He kinda laughed and said ur wasting ur time, u won't get ahalf dozen women to sign up.
I advertised it for WOMEN ONLY and to beheld in my sproting good shop and a NRA certifed course. The class could only hold 20. I HAD TO TURN WOMEN AWAY. Never under estimate WOMEN... This instructor gave an 8 week 4 hour one day a week course and later told me that it was the best class he had ever given for all thw women were on the edge of their seat sucking in all the gun information he could give them. THEY WANTED TO LEARN, unlike he said most of the male classed, there was always just enough men to feel they knew more than he did . This class by the way was comprised of 3 doctors a frew lawyers, mostly other professional women and a few just plain ol housewives. I still to this day will run into one of the class people and they always thanked me for having that class. The nice thing most women told me was that had the class been for men and women, they wouldnot have signed up for it but all women, they felt on a level plaiying field. The NRA instructor learned something from this to:third:

I told them I wasn't certified but I was certifiable. They didn't buy it. Go figure.

I bought a set of ProEars through the program. They sell for about $300 normally, and I got them for $200. Still steep for electronic muffs, but they are very good. They amplify quite noises and suppress loud ones. They don't shut off the boost when a loud noise is heard, so you can carry on conversations even with lots of hun shots going off. You can also plug your iphone into them when you're working outside with loaud yard equipment and what not.
Didn't think to look if Kahr was on the list when I bought my PM9 last month, but I got it with XS Big Dots installed for only $599, so I'm happy with the deal I got. I don't think the Instrctor discount would have saved too much more than that.

(actually will be taking a crap during that tv time). U see I do have my priorities in the propper place. U see I have to take this crap to make room for more of HIS crap.:third:

For someone who buys a lot of gun stuff it seems the ticket might be worth getting and teach a few CCW classes for ammo money.

It is a good deal. I highly recommend getting your NRA Instructor certification if you have an opportunity. I enjoyed the classes, and have been teaching CCW courses as time permits since getting mine. That too has been quite enjoyable. We have been focusing on teaching people who are relatively new pistol shooters and who want their CCW. It has been a lot of fun to work with new shooters and see them become excited about the sport. Lots of good potential to promote gun rights and increase the fold.

I've been told that more than once.
Somehow when I hired on here I missed the shrink test. I think that was a good thing. I don't got much use for shrinks, right down there with lawyers and media reporters.
I do have a good shrink story from my stay in the hospital though. I'll share that sometime if I haven't already. Who can remember these days.
