I bought a new Kahr today but the purchase took sort of a circuitous route. Yesterday I found a like new compact HK USP 45 at Bud's. However, after the Detonics CM 45, I decided no new guns unless I sell something. The M&P compact 40 was at the top of the list because it was a 40, was black, and I had other pistols the same size for carry. I took the M&P to my LGS today, but they weren't especially interested in buying it because they had other used M&P's - so did Bud's. Both were thinking $250 which was about $150 lower than I was thinking. My guy said I'll do better on a trade. I checked the 45 case but the only smallish 45's were Kimbers, a Defender, a 3" SIG, and a CW45. I didn't really want another 1911, so I walked out with the CW on an even trade, but had to buy a mag. [I think Kahr's promotion is over, isn't it?]
This is actually my second CW45, but I only had the other one two months before I traded on a PM45. It's my sixth Kahr and the third currently in my possession. I really wanted another HK, but the CW is shorter in length and height, narrower, and weighs 5 oz less than the USP compact. If it's like my other Kahrs, it will be problem free.
BTW, I saved $200 over the HK.
