I am new to the Kahr guns and have a CW9 and love it, But i'm thinking i may need another one. Something alittle smaller than my CW9. I like to carry in my front pocket in a holster. and i am doing it with my CW9 but it is alittle big for some of my pants. from what i have read the CW is a cheaper built gun then a PM. I have looked at afew local gun shops but can't find any Kahr guns. they all tell me they can get them, but i would like to see and feel the diff. So my question is the pm9 and cm9 smaller than my cw9? if so what is the diff. in pm9 and cm9? Is one better than the other? What is better for pocket carry? And I may go with the .45 if it is smaller than my CW9.

I just got all the Glock numbers figured out and now i am changing brands....lol...I have to learn all over again.

Thanks,
Littlejoe

The PM/CM series is indeed smaller in size and just slightly lighter than the CW series. My understanding on the biggest differences between the PM9 and CM9 are:

PM9 - polyganol rifling barrel, adjustable front sight, milled slide stop.
CM9 - conventional rifling barrel, pinned front sight, MIM slide stop.

The PM9 comes with two magazines while the CM9 comes with one. Kahr offers a free second magazine with the CM9 so that's not really an issue.

There may be other differences I'm not aware of that a more experienced member can chime in about.

The CM9 is very similar in styling to your CW9 albeit smaller.

As far as fit and finish and quality goes, they are identical. As far as I know, the same people are making and assembling each them.

Personally I feel the CM9/PM9 are a little big for pocket carry, but there are plenty of people here that do just that.

My CM9 on top and CW9 below.
Get the CM9 for pocket carry, I carry it in my pocket almost everyday.

I just got an all black PM9 today (one of the "test fired" ones), on the way home I stopped and picked up my CT laser that just came in to my mailbox ($30 off sale on the CT).

One of the "bad" things is that the test fired ones only come with one 6rd mag.

I paid $515 plus sales tax, is that an OK price? Yah, I know, a little late to worry about that now, but just curious!!

Good day all around!!!

Yah, I wasn't worried about it, just that it does increase my cost to bring it in line with what a new one comes with. Plus I only have a 1 year warranty.

I have both now....just traded an LCP for a CM9. The CM9's slide and barrel are about 1/8" longer than the PM9. The pinned front sight's dot is slightly bigger, also. The CM9 slide is tapered in front - nice for reholstering. The frame and internals appear to be identical, so the differences are all in the slide assembly.
