Finally made it back to the range today for what I hoped would be the wrap-up for the break-in period. This would be the second trip.
And it was.
100 rounds of WWB flawless - no light strikes! Let me repeat - NO LIGHT STRIKES! All BANGS! No FTF. No FTE. All Good.
The first break in trip I had 12 out of the first 150 of Rem UMC light strike though none in the last 50.
So, full disassembly of the striker assembly and a thorough cleaning leaving the channel BONE DRY seemed to do the trick between trips one and two. Likely I screwed up the initial prep and got the channel (too) wet.
I then wrapped up the day with 25 flawless rounds of RA45T so, maybe until I try out short barrel Speer 230 and CorBon 185 DPX, RA45T will be the carry round.
Cleaned it good. Blew out the striker channel with non Chlorinated CRC Brakleen.
I think we are ready for EDC.
Couple of observations.
The RA45T is standard load, but you can surely tell the difference between it and WWB - at least I could. Not "bad" in any way - it just "surprised" me a bit.
I had to go to the County outdoor range and the closets pistol targets allowed are at 15 yards. Let's just say that - for me - accuracy at 15 yards was a bit challenging and humbling. Good excuse to go back, but 20-25 feet is the scenario distance.
For those of you that can shoot, unlike me (yet), how accurate should the P45 be at 15 yards taking the shooter - me - out of the equation?
