A few weeks ago I purchased a CW9, my first Kahr. This was when they were offering a free extended magazine with a gun purchase. When I sent in the paperwork for the free mag I included a note with it requesting a standard 7 round mag instead of the 8 round extended. Well, yesterday my magazine arrived and it was the extended mag. The reason for this thread is the mag is extremely hard to push into the gun. It's so tight, it seems like it may be the wrong mag. It says 9 - 8 Kahr whick I assume means 9mm - 8 round, but wow, it's way to tight. When I do push it in I have to take the butt of my hand and pound it in for it to lock in, otherwise it will pull right out. Then the mag release button is hard to push in to release the mag and it only ejects maybe 1/8". None of this seems right. Anyone else experience this?

You can't pick what they send you, you get what the promotion offers as you found out.
As far as the stiffness goes, that sounds normal to me until it breaks in.
Sent using Tapatalk, thanks for supporting it on this site.

Bought my new CW45 on November 30th and sent the free mag coupon in on December 2nd.
The extended 7 rounder arrived today. It did stick a bit when inserted & ejected for the first 5 or six times, but after a few more, it clicks & seats in nicely and will drop free when the button is pushed.
Gotta take it to the range next week and see if it all works properly (haven't fired the pistol yet).

If Kahr wouldn't replace the troublesome mag, I'd take a pointed file and make the mag work trouble-free. The work should be done on the top side of the mag catch "hole".

Check and make sure the new mag is identical to what you have, other than the extended capacity. I got a new one also and it said it was for the 9mm/.40 but upon close inspection, the follower in the free mag was different. Instead of the button on the follower it was a rectangular piece of metal. Further investigation indicated, to me, that what they sent me was a magazine for the .40. My free one was also very tight to get in the well, just like you described. I wrote Kahr, explained the issue and they sent me the correct magazine AND a prepaid shipping label to ship the wrong one back to them. I am happy with the replacement magazine AND Kahr's customer service.
