First post here but lurked for awhile before I decided on a CM9. I am new to hand guns besides .22 pistols.
Anyways took my cm9 out and shot 150 rounds thru it. Really just plinking around at some targets and plinking toys. Now that I have some rounds thru it I was wondering what kind of accuracy I should expect and distance? I know its not made for long shooting. I am gonna go to the range next week and want to know how far out I should have the target to start and how far out should a max be?
So far I love the cm9 and soon will be a carry gun for me.
Also need to start looking for holster and prefer a IWB holster.
Thanks guys great forum here.

Thanks guys great forum here. The CM9 is as good as you are. Check out post #9 here http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9817&page=3. 2 pictures of some of my targets. Both pic's were 50 rounds at 15 yards with my CM9. There are many opinions on holsters. Personally, I think there is only ne choice, PJHolster. I have some bad pic's of mine at post #1 here. http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9804&page=2

it is what it is. a pure defense gun that will sae ur life. so that being said priactice at 7 yards and under and get good at that distance. by thyat I mean get fast at that distance, so POA shooting is the way to train with that gun. Forget that bulleyes target sh-t. BG does not wear bulleyes. Buy some of the FBI style "Q" silhouette targets. They are body cavidy siaze, no bulleyes, tranto keep allin that area, . Kahrs long trigger system is there for ur protection. It is ur only safety. There is no better smoother triger ouot there but kahrs are not easy to sot dead nut accurate either. So do't get down heartred if your shots seem all over the target. U wll feel alot better if ur shots are allover inside the FBI style silhouette target.
welcome aboard. ifyou hve not visited two good stickys go to the kahr tech section andhit on
#1 kahr lube chart
#2 propper prepping of ur new kahr
actually Markis 82 gave the correct answer to your real question to. some people can shoot um in the same hole, some cannot, SAME GUN.:banplease:
u got a dandy kahr in the cm9, nothing in its class IMO.

I do most of my carry gun shooting at about 5 to 7 yards out to maybe 15 tops. Especially at first. You want to focus on groups so when your shooting quarter size groups at 7 yards move out a bit. When your shooting quarter size groups at 25 yards, I don't want to hear about it, that's the stuff dreams are made of.
Distance only opens up the group but also emphasizes your mistakes.
Just do what works for you. I like positive results and in my mind most bad things are gonna happen up close and probably fast. Past 15 yards I'll roll to a hiding place and wait for the cavalry if I can.

quarter size groups--humm I am still at 7 and 5 yards and looking for that first quarter size group then pardner I am oputta there and back to 50 yards. One group is enough for me to go bragging up and down main street. People will be clapping and yelling for ol jocko to. So far 5years of ownership with my PM9 and people are getting damn tired of standingon main street waiting on a"true loser".
been called that many times, it is now starting to really sink in.

I can do it most of the time ........... with my 45 carbine and a rest. :) With a hand gun I need a very good day and a very good gun to even come close at ten.

Thanks guys thats what i needed. Jocko, Yes I have been to those two links and they were a big help. I cleaned it before I took it out and also polished the feed ramp.
I was shooting my practice rounds out about 25 yards and I was happy just to hit some things lol. But next time out I will start at 7yrds and then maybe work my way out. Thanks again.

If a real scenario ever happens, it is going to be close, practive close, fool around at 15 yardsd + but get good under that by a long ways. BG aren't really in alot of harms way at 15-25 yards but at 7 and under, u gotta be fast and bascally automatic i your drills. Remember the front sight is ur friend, see it perfectl;y and the rest will all fall in place. U not in a real defense situation gonnaq have alot of time to line up sights etc, and just good ol POA at 7 yards and under will blow ur mind as to how accurate u can get. Besides tha tyou will hit far more of what ur aimng at with your little kahr at 7 yards than u ever willat 15-25 yards. That you will soon find out:third:
I must attest I shoot my PM9 horrably, but I am very confident at 7 yards and under and I truly trust my PM9 100%.

I have about 300 rounds through my CM9. I haven't had any failures of any kind in over 200 of those shots. I do all my shooting at 6 to 7 yards and am getting fairly good at that distance. I can trust my CM9 with my life when necessary to defend myself. Heck, for and older guy I can even rack the slide now without using a grip aid. I am a happy camper. :third:
For an inside the waistline look at the silent thunders, they fit like a expensive glove and feel good when drawing and re-holstering.

I usually shoot my CM9 at around 7 to 10 yards. My one shot groups are less than a dime. :) I practice double taps and rapid fire, which I am fairly bad at, but the shots hit center mass.
I just got an IWB holster from pjholster for it last week and it is very secure feels good all day.

With the stock sights?
Trijicon front, stock rear. (It was a joke... one shot groups... they are the width of the bullet... and the're not really groups I guess)
