I ran across this site while looking for info on how to fit grips to a handgun.

http://www.grips4guns.com/info/gripfit.html

I just ordered a set of grips off of Kahr.com for my MK9 and have read all too many stories on here about grips not fitting. After reading through this page it sounds as if frame inconsistencies on stainless frames are extremely common among most manufacturers. This might be valuable to those of you on here who make custom grips and have had issues with them fitting certain guns. Maybe this is common knowledge but I never knew the tolerances where so loose.

indeed u are so so right. Years ago when we sold guns and alot of colt 22's etc and Ruger sincle six,s we sold (stocked) alot of Jay Scott grips. Many did not fit worth a sh-t. Course we blamed the grips never the gun, actually ur artricle was the first that any mfg-er even acknowledgedd that there is a frame variation. We had alot of colts backthen that just wold not accept Jay Scott grips..
