P45 Uppper on CW45 Lower

Based on everything I've seen, it should be OK to run a P45 slide and barrel on a CW45 grip. Does anyone know a reason why this wouldn't be OK?

I actually did this between my older P45, and the wife's new CW 45. No worries, but I did not shoot it like that. I could see no reason that they would not interchange though, as the frames are the same. I also did not notice anything when racking and playing with it when I did it.

I think jlottmc is dead right, it will interchange, my question would be "why"..

BUT: if u look at the kahr specs, which possably could be subject to error "alot". the cw45 has the same exact barrel length and slide width, but the cw45 is a quarter inche longer than the P45. 6.07" vs 6.32". now maybe some of u wiser guys can explain this sh-t to me:confused::confused:

jtlottmc, with ur old" P45 slide and ur wifes new cw45 slide, what is the actuall length different. Could it be your P45 old slide is maybe the "blunt" nose version and the cw45 now the beveled slide version, if that be so, the barrels should also be different lenghts. The 1/4" gan for trhe cw has to coe from somewhere...

The why is pretty odd, but when the P45 was reassembled after plating, the trigger spring was put in backward so it's gotta go back to be fixed. The frame will probably be out of my hands for several weeks while this fix happens. I was thinking about using the P45 upper with the CW lower, but now I really think about it more I'm probably best off just using the CW45 since I know it works.

I always thought something felt "off" with the trigger return on the P45, but I really didn't see the issue until last weekend.

I also have both an older P45 and a new CW45 and have interchanged both frames and slide assemblies with each other. They work fine either way.

It is the old blunt nose style, I didn't measure it or anything, but that would be my guess as well accounting for the dimension changes.
