This morning at 9AM I received a call from Ian. He apologized for the error and that the wrong gun was sent. He mentioned that there were several options for me and asked what I would like to do. If I wanted the NS he would send a call tag to have the slide sent back and they would put the night sights on for me or he could compensate me in other ways. I mentioned that MSRP was about $120 difference between the 2 guns with about a $90 difference discounted. I told Ian that since I purchased this gun I have been without it for over 2 months between the 2 repairs. I asked Ian that if I wanted to keep the gun they sent me could he compensate me for the cost difference, he said he could. Rather than ask for the cash difference I asked if he could send me some extra mags, he offered to send me 3 additional mags in any combination I wanted. He is sending me two 5 round mags and one 6 round. It worked out well because I was only going to have to order extra mags anyway. The mags list for $44 ea from Kahr, Midway has them for $32 ea so there is my cost difference. The sights were becoming less of an issue to me because the more I thought about it I could see the white dot better. I guess Kahr made out because they saved the shipping, I made out because I got the new gun and the extra mags. I know its a done deal but I would still appreciate your opinions. Thanks again for all your help, input and support.
PS...I will let you know how this one shoots ASAP.. JL

I think your deal is a good one and would be happy. NS do not work well for my eyes. If I am in a very dark room and my eyes fully adjust (10 minutes) I can see the night sights well. If I just grabbed my gun and walked outside at night, I cannot see the NS and might as well have black iron sights so for me your deal was a good one. Go shooting and report back asap.

I agree. I think it worked out well. Night sights are over rated far as I'm concerned. I have them on most but I think it's just mental conditioning more than anything. I was surprised how well I did with my MRI first time out. It is just black on black but I could see them well. A mystery for sure.
Some extra mags and a new gun, just gotta love that.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. The only down side I see is the two months without the gun, but water under the bridge now.

I agree Bawanna. I have NS's on six of my guns, seven if you count the red dot on the carbine. However, they all came with the gun, and I've never paid extra for them, and they are harder to see in the light. The only exception are the night sights on my HK 40 home defense pistol. If I wake up in the middle of the night and need the gun, my eyes are already night adapted and the house is mostly dark.

night sights is something that we all think we need but in reality DON'T. my my I wonder how we ever hit anything 30 years ago without these necessary sights???

I'm happy to read that you and Ian were able to work out an equitable deal.
Concerning NS, I'm an agnostic.

No problem with that. Agnostic is the bad guy in the book or movie and the protaganostic is the good guy or maybe I got them basakwards.

I'm glad you got a deal that you could live with, John. The night sights don't help when there's light. I ordered some Hard Duty Trijicon NS for my "new" Springfield XD45 Tactical. There's a local gunsmith that specializes in a lot of pitstols of which XD's are one, so I can have those properly installed and get a trigger job, too.
I'll test those sights and post my results... with pictures, of course. Those NS have a "U"-shaped rear aperture and the Yellow glow-dot surrounding the Tritium dot up front. I hope they help my "old" eyes, especially in the daytime.
Wynn:)
Sounds like you both made out well. You got mags... perhaps more useful than night sights, and they saved a few dollars all round.
Win/win... I like that
