Hi people,
I'm curious . . . and sorry for the newby question, but when I empty a magazine (on my new CW 45) it does not lock open, when the mag is finished. Not sure if it is set up this way, or if it is suppose to lock open like my other auto's do. I have seen some that do not lock back when the mag/chamber is empty, and just not sure how to determine if this gun is working correctly or not. Can anyone give me some feedback, and as usual, thanks in advance.

It's supposed to lock back, contact Kahr and get it fixed.

As far as I know, it should be locking open with an empty magazine.

It should lock back, check to make sure it has been reassembled correctly i.e. the slide stop has the spring retaining it in that little groove, and that the spring is not messed up. That's where I would start before making phone calls, just me though.

If you have the strength, pull the slide back like you're going to engage the slide lock, but hold the slide in that position and push up on the slide lever and let it go. If the spring is engaged, the lever should be forced down. You can also lock the slide back and look at the rear "free" end of the spring and see if it is on top of the slide lock ledge/notch. Care should be taken in inserting the pin of the slide lock lever. This is covered in the manual and on a great video at Kahr.com under the info on your pistol.

See the take down video below the small pistol pictures. The part about the slide lock insertion starts at about 4:27... very informative.

Brud,
If you only have the one mag that came with the pistol, take it apart and see if the spring is properly oriented with the follower: http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9193
