New style vs old style.
Get the 13 coil if you have the 13 coil now.
Advantage of the 15 coil spring is that it's longer, for the longer (new style) slide. :)
You can also get a replacement from Wolff Springs (lucky you), if you have the old style... saves you from having to buy a whole new assembly, just replace the front spring and you're done.
Thanks thunder, i didnt know that the new pm9 are longer....is that what your saying?????

Yeah, the older ones are a little shorter and still what Kahr displays on their website -the new ones have the beveled front.

what to do.,
u have the old style blune nose slide, which IMO is the best of the best. but ur recoil assembl.y if u buy it from kahr will cost you $25 plus postage for they won't sell anymore just the outter sprg and THAT IS ALLUNEED TO REPLACE.
so go to Gunsprings.com (wolffs and order fromt hem the outter recoil spring for your model kahr. They make the outter sring for the old style slides in two weights even. One is factory 18# and the other is 20.5# alittlle more strength. I have the 20.5# i my PM9 adlove it but it is stiffer to rack. Order at leat 3 springs and thenu need not worry about it anymore. They make kahrs recoils springs by theway. Ur pr9ice is much much lower to..
U have IMO the best of the best in the PM9 old style slide. why they6 made the PM9 a tad longer and IMO screwed everything up now with two different barrels, slides, andrecoil assembly's blows my little mind. Don't get rid of that blunt noxe kahr EVER
Hey notice new pm 9 mag has lip on bottom of mag where mine is flat like first pic......will the new pm9 mags fit the old pm9?????

That's actually a photo of my PM9 with a different magazine base on it. :)
But yes, they're the same magazines (PM9, MK9, CM9).
Im assuming barrel would fit the same, maybe just a lil longer than original....if slides are a lil longer????

Looks like it sticks out slightly farther in the old version and flush on the new version?

new style barrel will fit in the old style slide but look like sh-t, old style willnot fit in new style due to be shorter. I think if need be the old style barrels are still available, not like the blunt nose version is totally obsolete, just notmade anymore. slide difference is about.20 longer, , big fokking deal huh, WHY even do it, made no sense to me course kahr didn't askme either. I have my eye on my good friends blunt nose PM9 who wants to sell it. I offeredhim $250 for it, can't really repeat what his answer back was!!! Might have to go up maybe 25 bucks more..!!!!
Theres deals out there, i paid $300 for mine, at a pawn shop..... :0)

All this talk about new style... old style... There's nothing like sippin' Old Style beer on a hot summer day at Wrigley field! I can't buy Old Style where I am now in Ohio... not that I'd really want to... it wan't that great of beer. But that is what you drink at Wrigley when watching the Cubs loose. ;)

So, you can't get any heavier springs for the "new style"? No one knows of anyone else, anywhere?

none that I know of. not alot of recoil sprimg makers around either. actually kahrs factory springs are heavy enough.

I've never seen an issue with factory and have several thousand rounds throught it, but I always like options

old style PM9 here..from 2009...just hit 3,445 rds, about 30,000 rds short of jocko's total. He's probably got 50,000 rounds through it by now, huh?
The old Pm9's barrels and springs are shorter. Way back about a year, Kahr made the change, and folks with old Pm9s were ordering springs and getting the new longer ones that did not fit. It was a tee-total mess of confusion way back. I hope it's all worked out now.

Well, judging by their site they aren't very organized or at least up-to-date on things.
I saw a youtube video, of a guy trying to install a newer longer spring....i believe it wouldnt fit all the way.....i would just cut the springs down to 13 coils if that happened to me........

IMO I would not cut a new style beveled longer slide that reuires the 15 coil springs down to 13 because one can't get it in as easy. If it came that way, then someone certainly installed them. They are hard at first go get in , no doubt about that and yes u can shorten and get them in but you are also possably upsetting the timing of the gun to. They don't put the 15 coil spring in the gun just to be different. The slide is longer, so one would think the recoi assembly would be longer to, (which it certainlyh is) Some have though cut a quarter coil off with alot of success bnut ZI would not go dwonto 13 coils, YMMV. Install the longer springs, fight it if necessary and then lock the slide open for a day or so and hand rack it a few hundred times and no doubt after that first 50-100 rounds down range the springs will take their designed set and u will be good to go.

Agreed. The new spring will go in, it is a battle, but it will go. After a trip to the range, it will all be better. As jocko stated, the spring will set and everthing will be easier. i.e. racking, takedown, and installing the spring.

Mine came with 17 coils, so I did indeed have to trim it a bit.

I wishI could have seen a photo of that before u trimmed it. That is unbelievable jsut to my knowledge no one has ever reported anything like that..

Yeah, took a couple guys at Kahr to understand the problem - the slide wouldn't budge when I did get it in there. A couple days later they informed me that they realize the problem and have made adjustments with their inventory.
