Hi Guys. I need a little info on a MK40, Model M4043NLE. First, I know it has NS's, but is this the model # for the Elite? I've got a chance to buy a used one in almost perfect shape for $600, which seems like a good price compared to others I've seen. Also does anyone have this pistol, and what do you think of it? What do you think?

Okay, I hope all your comments were going to be positive, because I just ordered the pistol from a dealer in MA. I did find out from Kahr that it's not the Elite. Here's a picture of the gun I ordered.

I wonder if the NLE refers to Nuyork Law Enforcement and it has the NYPD trigger? :p

I found out that the gun I ordered wasn't actually used, but had been in the dealer's showcase and had been handled. Even if it isn't an Elite, I don't think $600 is a bad price - not with the ones I've seen on GB and some stores. It's an M4043N. How has yours worked?

Local I've seen one M4043 reduced to $650 to move the product.
As it had been in the case for a while - it's gone now.

$600 for a M4043N is a VERY GOOD PRICE IMHO
You did good my friend.

M4048N 800 rounds later:
Mine was crazy tight out of the box.
Took almost 400+ rounds to totally break in.
Now it runs like a Swiss watch, feeds anything and is amazingly accurate.
Also the low bore axis and 25 oz all stainless weight, for me,
allows accurate double taps without much muzzle flip.
On a belt it's super comfortable and one of my favorite carry guns.
I truly believe the all stainless gun just polishes itself with use.
And just gets smoother and smoother operating.
I use the Militec1 Synthetic Based Metal Conditioner as my lube.

I have the mk40 standars sights and love it. Not one malfunction in 5 range trips. The action is smooth as a gun can be. I have customized it cosmetically with Flitz by handpolishing. The slide frame and barrel but not the top of the slide or the way the slide lines drop down on the left side. I paid 735 after dickering. They just don't show up around here everyone wants plastic. I look at it like they don't know what they are missing. Well maybe a few ounces
