I have read about this laser and can't find anywhere whether it has an on and off switch other than the button. I think that would be a real pain if you couldn't turn it off.

Does not have a master on off switch. I just recently picked it up along with a pm9. The time I brought it to the range and wanted practice without it, I covered the lens with a piece of electrical tape. I agree, it would be better with a master switch though.

If it had a switch, it might and probably would be off when you needed it to be on RIGHT NOW.

Some of their trigger guard mounted lasers have on off switch, I wish this one did. I would like the option to turn it off if I did not want it.

The CT works fine, but I agree that I would have liked a master switch.
After I made my initial minor adjustments, the CT laserguard has remained zeroed-in after at least 200 rds. I did not bother covering the lens when shooting (outdoor range). Sometimes I could see the red dot at 25yds (useful in the zeroing process), other times it was not as readily visible owing to bright sunlight.
A minor amount of GSR-induced "sparkle" distortion to the pattern of the dot cleaned up with with just a pointed Q-tip.
Next time, I may adopt the electrical tape cover, and remove it once just to be certain that the dot is still on target.
The free pocket holster that came with it (an incentive by CT) actually works nicely in the front pocket for CCW.

I've got a Crimson Trace LG-437 mounted on my CM9 and where is no separate ON/OFF switch other than the button on the front of the grip to turn it on when you grip your handgun. This work fine and is not a problem because it only turns on when I'm holding the handgun. If I want to turn it off when holding the gun, I just lift up the finger on the switch and it turns off.
I've got other Crimson Trace lasers on other handguns that have a separate ON/OFF switch but never turn it off with these. I rely on the grip activated switches and never had a problem with battery life or anything else that I can think of as a negative.

There is no battery drain when not on, so not having a switch is no big deal. Practice with iron sites with a piece of tape on lens. I carry bandage tape for use on my fingers when they get sore at the range, and use it to cover lens, it leaves no residue.

^My trigger finger also gets rubbed very sore from my CT laser guard, when I was never injured at all before adding it.

How is that happening? The laserguard should not be anywhere near your trigger finger. The middle finger could perhaps rub the laser switch....but not the index finger.

The LG is two halves. No new info I'm sure. Well each half meets underneath, but only has a lip to go over the bottom of the trigger guard on the trigger well side(The side towards my trigger finger). Since those two pieces don't meet, that surface rubs my finger raw. It literally rubbed my skin off after <100 rounds.

YES, now I see how it occurs  OUCH!
...I was just cleaning my CM9, and I could see how the rub happens. I have a tapered and narrowish index finger, so it does not affect me, but if my finger were wider--or if I tended to place my finger lower on the trigger, it would scrape.
It would be nice if the two halves of the CTLG attachment abutted completely. Maybe a filler piece could be made, or place a piece of moleskin (insole and heel anti-rub stuff they sell in drugstores) on the surface or on the finger....just thinking outloud.

Lasers are for sharks, even Dr. Evil knows that.
