A fella that works at city hall had a grandfather pass on a few years back and apparently in his later years he got alot like me. He took guns apart and hid little parts and pieces all over the house and garage.
He's found lots of old stuff and gave me a bunch of neat stuff that he had no use for. I put a few back together for him if he found all the pieces. Guess he's still finding stuff.
Friday he brought in a couple black powder kits, still all packaged and untouched. Wanted me to finish and put them together. He also found one of those AR7 survival rifles that all stores in the buttstock. He's not a real gun guy and thought it was just the stock, he was tickled to find everything inside including a scope and a cleaning kit.
So after hours of sanding and polishing (who knows how old these kits were, I'd say easy 30 years, I almost suggested leaving them untouched) took alot to get the green off on the bottom of each piece.
Here they be. I like to think of the 3 barrel rig as the Jocko Special.
So what did you do this weekend?

That Duckfoot pistol looks nice. Is that other one a screw barrel pistol? AH NO I see it is the New Orleans Ace.
I would love to shoot that Duckfoot once or twice...

Looks like a nice fun couple projects. Looks very nice. Friday went with a friend to buy a new gun safe. Seems like a 28 rifle safe isn't big enough for him.Lol So he bought a 36 rifle safe I believe it was. Good grief I could live in the darned thing. On the way home he asked if I minded stopping at a gun shop we had never been to before. Heck I was out for the day I sure didn't care. I went through the scratch and dent used holster sling box while he was looking around. I managed to find a Fubus Kydex on the belt holster for my P3at. for $4. and some Blazer 22 rounds for my new 22/45 and 10/22 I was happy. Then went over to talk to my friend and I spotted a M1 Carbine on the shelf. I knew he had been looking for one to go with his M1 Garand and his M1A(M14). He bought it. Yes the dudes got money, but to just talk to him you'd never know he has a dime. I figure he'll be looking for a bigger safe in six months.LOL. That was my Friday. Saturday went to a Phila. Flyer Hockey game with three other friends. Great game they won in overtime (HatTrick) with a couple seconds left. Sunday took the Harley out in the morning went for some breakfast with another friend and took about a 50 mile ride, came home to watch some Football. And while were on the topic of out guns. While at the Hockey game I got a great tip from a Marine buddy of mine on a guy who is selling a WW1 Colt 1911 (Not a 1911a1). I'm pretty stoked about that, just hope he's not asking crazy money for it. It would really go well with my M1 Garand in a display case. All and all it was a pretty nice weekend.

That's missus Bawanna, years ago. Now Bawanna needs to work on his metal finishing and not leave those shooters in the white. Metal finishing really isn't that hard to do and the choices of finishes, especially period correct are plentiful. Look in to it, you may surprise yourself with a new skill.

I intended to do that, figured on a browning but the dude said he wanted to see them in the white. He'll see them today and then I guess go from there.
I am way more into wood than metal though, thats for sure.
Very cool! I like them a lot!

Very nice work, Bawanna dear!
Saturday, I took my neighbors shooting so that they could choose what model of Glock they wanted. To my surprise, they chose a Gen 3 G26. This was Ms. Mary's first time shooting a handgun and it looks like she will turn out to be a pretty good shot. She listened when I was explaining about how to stand and grip the gun. Mr. Lee had his own ideas and didn't do as well. He kept cupping the grip and trying to aim high and then draw down on the target like he was dueling.

I've encountered many duelers before. They are indeed tough to retrain.

Well another long weekend and probably gonna be longer cause of the snow here. Thought I'd show some shots of what I'm working on for Muggsy. I got them done tonight and oiled but didn't get a finished picture yet.
few more days at home would be nice. Maybe do a little reloading tomorrow.
