Christmas Eve day I went and picked up a Ruger 22/45 to go with my 10/22 rifle. I enjoy shooting the larger caliber guns but have recently been getting into shooting the 22's. a little more while I'm there. Both of these guns are very reliable and good accurate shooters so long as you use a decent brand of ammo. Not the guns fault but just poorly manufactured ammo. I found some of the Winchester Bullets are not centered in the brass casings and are filthy. Anyhow I thought being how we all like pictures I thought you might like to see these two little fun guns.5138

Nice. I have that reflex sight on my Mark II. It works very well. Never thought of putting it on my 10/22. Good idea.

Bawanna it works excellent on the 10/22. Haven't made up my mind on what I'm going to do with the pistol yet. For now I'm just going to leave it alone till I give it more thought. Of course then again a person of my age thinking to much usually gets me into trouble.:( Late 60's early 70's were kind of though on old Popeye.

Yup those 60's and 70's were rough on many of us.

Anyone have or used a Beretta Neos 22LR. I am about 99% on picking one up for fun. Just under $250.00

Yes, I bought one 7 or 8 years ago to have a fun, user friendly and very reasonably priced .22 with which to train my sons. I never really fell in love with the styling but the gun is quite competent. As far as the newest lines of .22s available, ie; Walther, Sig, Buckmark, etc., I consider the Beretta to be the absolute best buy , quality for the dollar.
I bought the longer barrel. It fed ammo well. It didn't shoot as well as my Colt Woodsman, (what does), but it was IMHO, superior to my Mosquito and P22, and almost the equal of my Buckmark Field 5.5. I think I paid $219 for it at Gander Mtn.
Good gun at a good price, especially if you're a Buck Rogers fan. ;)

Thats good to hear. Not a buck rogers fan but I am willing to step 'outside the box' now and then.
I was really looking at some P22's but they are apparently quite the jammers and ammo picky and supposedly the mosquito is worse. Now I don't have first hand knowledge of that but this is what Al Gores' interweb told me.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. Looks like it a Neos for me.

The new Ruger SR22 (http://www.ruger.com/products/sr22Pistol/index.html) is quite P22 like in appearance and the reviews I've read give it high marks in reliability. I've handled one and it seems well made. I don't like how the safety operates or it's location so I didn't buy it, but that might not be a deal breaker for others.

Got a Ruger MK111 to replace the MK11 I stupidly sold, and I also have a Henry lever 22 and my Grandfather's Winchester 97 pump in 22 short. All great, fun guns!:)

Folks at rugerforum.net report finding them in the $300-$350 range. The one I saw was $349.

Greg
