View Full Version : What's the ballpark price for CW9 night sights?

I'm wanting to put a set of night sights on a CW9. I'm guessing that the best way to get this done is to have the slide sent to Kahr and have them do it.
Who has had this done?
How good did they do the work?
What was the turn around time?
What is the estimated cost?
Thanks for the answers. I'm actually considering selling this gun for an ultra light weight carry gun, but may keep it if the price isn't too high. If I DO sell it, what would be the fair price for a nearly new one with 100 clean rounds through it [no failures], a magazine that drops free, and an unusual serial number?

Instead of sending my CW9 to Kahr I bought the front night sight from Dawson Precision for $49 and installed it myself. Very simple due to the design. I liked the rear sight of the factory Kahr and did not want rear night sights so this setup worked for me.

Thanks for that post. Good information in there.
What about the last part of my OP?

I'd say right around $350.

I concur with the $350 price. I have seen a couple recently for 350-400 in lightly used condition.

Is there any monetary value to "100 rounds without error", "a magazine that drops free", or a VERY unique serial number? I know that some CW9s have issues with the magazine hanging up, . . . and this gun has 4 consecutive numbers in the serial. Just wondering.

Sorry but I do not see additional value in these attributes. Most buyers will expect the gun to function properly and the serial number means nothing to in an ordinary carry gun. It may have some value in a highly collectible antique weapon. I really like the two Kahr pistols I own but I doubt they will be collectible in the near future.

Ruger collectors value some serial numbers in early models, so there is no reason why the same thing can't happen for Kahrs in the future.
Me? I like them because they are well designed & manufactured - plus they shoot pretty darn good too. :)
