View Full Version : PM9 - Anyone have a fix for irritated trigger finger?

Every time I shoot my PM9 the trigger irritates my trigger finger. It seems the trigger is a little to short and the bottom edge digs into my finger during recoil.

The only way I can comfortably shot this pistol is with a glove on my hand.

Anyone else have this problem or does anyone have any suggestion/s for a permanent fix?

Thanks!

The trigger on my black PM45 is very sharp too.

The fix is not so terrible. Somebody (you or gunsmith) removes the trigger and files, sands and polishes it smooth. I had a .... cant remember which now... I think it was a P90DC Ruger... I had to round the BACK of the trigger as well as the front. The front got rounded on its corners to make DA shooting better, and the back to prevent my hammy flesh from being pinched.

If you have a black trigger, you can have the smithy blast it... matt silver... not original but not ugly.

Personally I do not have any problems with the trigger, but you could always take a 800 grit sand paper sand it a little. You do not need to remove the trigger for doing it.

You can always wrap a piece of tape around your trigger finger, but it's only a band-aid fix. :)

Just keep shooting . . . the problem will go away eventually. Honest! :)

At one time that was a problem for me. I took to installing band-aides to prevent broken skin.

At some point, after months of that drill, I forgot to put the band-aide on for a 50 round session. Then I started shooting a fun match with the PM40 that made the band-aide seem out of place.

Today, I fired 100 rounds of reasonably peppy Remington FMJ "target" ammo. It had more recoil than my carry round, but my finger feels fine. Life is good.

Hang in there and keep shooting, you'll finger it out.

I actually thought the Kahr trigger was much smoother shaped than the finger bite I got shooting my old LCP or my wife's LC9. Add a CT to them and you needed a box of bandaids! All that sharp plastic!

I'm personally not one to sand, file, grind or polish the trig while its in the frame, but YMMV... Then again, I just dont "break the edge" but like to give it a full rolled edge instead. I'm gonna have to learn how to get that trigger out of the PM45 before I K-Kote the PM9's slide (refin the trig!)

I used to know of a cure for this problem, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
