Sadly the behavior of the Obamanation on this is no different but the continuation of an un-Constitutional pattern. Look at al lthe "Czars" he appointed.
When he cannot get what he wants thru the legislative process he does it thru executive fiat. Hey comrade Obama...

Just wait and see what Pesbobama does when he starts his 2nd term...He won't have anything to lose because the Republicans didn't have anything to win the election with...You can bet your ars that Odooma will be coming after guns and most probably ammunition with taxes or outright bans...

owned.
by the way, this is 6 month old news.
i love how OP tells us we're all paranoid for pointing out the ways the government is taking our rights in baby steps so that most don't notice or just accept it... then makes his own threads about how the president is screwing over gun owners with executive orders. ever notice how when you chuck a quarter or two into your change jar at the end of every day, but then a few years later when you check it... hey theres a few hundred dollars. same concept, only it's our rights that are being stashed away, never to be cashed back in.
based on the way OP is always calling anyone who doesn't agree with him (which is basically everyone on this forum, from what i've seen) a leftist, i'm assuming he only made this thread because it was the evil, leftist, half black president's executive order.
saying this doesn't mean that i'm an obama supporter, leftist, or lunatic, although i'm sure he's about to say otherwise.

And it may not be corrected for another six months. The problem is that you expect instant gratification. Impetuous youth, have a little patience. Who was it that said that Fast and Furious wasn't an excuse for Obama to push for more gun control and that the republicans were only playing politics with the issue.
No one owns me.

I'm not in the least concerned about anyone in government abusing power, because of the system of checks and balances of power written into our constitution by our founding fathers.

Not quite. What I'm saying is progressive socialists = bad and conservative capitalists = good. The problem is that the democrat party is controlled by progressive socialists. That problem can be corrected by conservative democrats. You see our country is a republic founded on the principles of free capitalism, as well it should be.

Once again you are letting your ignorance show. It doesn't matter if the government follows the constitution to a tee. It only matters that the constitution prevails. Corrected by the checks and balances. That's why we have three branches of government. The founders knew the failings of man. That's why we have a system of checks and balances. Nothing in life is perfect, but our constitution is as close to perfect as man has come. That's because it was divinely inspired. You really ought to get to know the constitution.

The checks and balances correct abuses of power.
In a correctly functioning US government I would agree. However nobody with 2 or more living brain cells would make the mistake of saying our current government is functioning as the Founding Fathers set it up. Far from it. Therefore the checks and balances built into the system are currrently only platitudes for the uninformed.

Not when we have a pres that is stocking the Supreme Court with libs, and putting anti-Constitution-minded chronies in positions, like head of DOJ. If he gets another term, and we possibly lose 2 of the older SC justices, check and balances will be a thing of the past. We have one shot to get this joker out. Too bad the reps have a bunch of idiots to chose from.
Like mentioned before, our forefathers would already be shootin.

When are they going to correct the abuses of power exhibited by Jefferson? Or Washington? Or Lincoln? Sure would seem that if those checks n balances were going to correct those abuses that it would have happened long before now.

I forgot to ask.. How is voting for a republican going to prevent this sort of crapola when it was the Republicans who pushed for Patriot Act I in the first place?
Democrats seem to have forgotten that they voted for President Obama because he was going to repeal Pat Act I which aint happened.

Hitler was far more intelligent than you as well. Just because someone is smart and in politics doesn't mean they are out for everyone's good. You really are naive when it comes to history. History shows koolaid drinkers have follwed smart men to their graves. You will be one of those who says, "But this wasn't supposed to happen!" when the SHTF.
If it is no concern to you, and our concern is just paranoia, why do you even care to debate this? If you are at peace with the world and the govt will take care of everything, hand over your guns.

Isn't that inevitably one of the reason we carry and own weapons? The Constitution says so. But we are abandoning it, so it is moot anyway. No need to get alarmed about gun grabbers either (sarcasm)

See, democrats want to take your guns adn give your money to those who don't try in life. We gripe about that all the time. It's unConstitutional. Big government. But so is a big-brother-type govt that can monitor every action a citizen makes. It's not a rep or dem thing. They are ALL big govt, just in different areas. So although I identify myself more with the right, republicans want big govt as well, just where they want it.
Muggsy, you believe what you believe, and I am glad you have no worries or fears of our current lineup of clowns. I, on the other hand, see a potential for abuse should the right (wrong) person fall into the throne. You checks and balances are soon to be gone as soon as B.O. stocks the last few Supreme court seats with gun hating, civil liberty yanking libs. I am saying this out a very conservative POV. The majority of your modern day repulblicans are just as greedy and controlled by money and big business as well. I have the brain to see that and not adhere to any dogma and all of its agendas. Only fools do that.

They will pry my guns from my cold dead fingers. I first started reading the American Rifleman in 1958. I was told then that I was in danger of losing my constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I became a life member of the NRA in 1971. Since then the Supreme Court has ruled that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right. I feel a lot more secure now. When you fellas think that you've put in as much effort toward securing that right let me know. I'll straighten you out about that, too.

First off, you haven't straightened out anything with anybody.
Second, most members here (I hope) are NRA members, whether life members or not. I think our awareness to issues threatening our Constitutional rights, including teh 2nd Ammendment, is what a true patriot would do. Patriotism does not mean supporting your country in everything they do. That is called blind faith idiocy. Patriotism is raising your voice, fists, or weapons and call BS when you see it. That's what our founding fathers said, and I agree.

Truth be told you have NOT put in any more or less effort than anybody else your age who is an NRA member. You have nothing you can straighten me out about Period.
