She finally came in. I have to say, upon inspection, I was nervous. I noticed some metallic shavings on the slide when I field stripped the pistol(And having only owned Glocks, this was an absolute PIA to takedown). Also there were some plastic shavings on the frame. Cleared that all out. I followed the lube diagram that is posted in the KahrTech portion of the forum, after completely taking the pistol apart, including the slide, and cleaning everything. I tried to rack the slide a ton of times, and found myself reaching for my Mechanix gloves because my fingers were hurting.
I'm hoping the break-in period loosens this pistol up as the slide release and racking the slide in general is tearing up my hands - as girly as that sounds. Also trying to debate how I want to handle that whole "magazine drop" thing too, but I'll probably get the pistol broken in first.
Hopefully, I'll make it to the range tomorrow to break it in. I've bought some Winchester white box and some Federal to get to 200 rounds with. I figured after shooting that, I'll probably try and shoot another 50~150 rounds of some cheap-o Monarch and Tulammo to see what this thing's made of.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Proper lubing is good, but I think that excessive manual racking is overrated. I prefer to do that maybe 20 times and break it in with shooting... more fun... and yeah, gloves are a good idea if you're going to rack it a bunch, but now your hands will be already be sore when you shoot it!
Try to pull the trigger without moving the gun... jerking the trigger, etc. Practice dry-firing before the range, trying not to move the gun at all as the trigger breaks. I get to yanking the danged thing... always in a hurry... don't like to spend so much time aiming. In real self-defense scenarios, someone is likely to be shooting at you and hopefully you'll try to dodge bullets and get cover while throwing some rounds at the bad guys. I try to keep that in mind and small groups aren't my goal. I know the pistols are accurate and can hit the bull's eye if I do things properly.

Yeah, I plan to set up at 7 yards and then just let 'er rip - although I'll probably set up again at 15 yards(as far as the range I frequent has set up) to see what happens. Needless to say, I'm excited. Hopefully my plastic gets to me in the mail by the end of the week and I can start being a civilian sheepdog!

nothing beats the bang thing in a gun for breaking in any gun, but that being sad, u can't everharm a gun by hand racking prior to the bang thing. 20 times or 200 that is ur call, what is posted here on this forum is a SUGGESTION, not a mandatory thing, but if you have read alot on this forum, many many new owners who have done the lube chart thig and the propper prepping thing loved their first time out. Does it mean the gun would not have done that without any of that?? absolutely not, BUT IT NEVER CAN HURT ANYTHING by being ready either..
Congrats on the CM9, I am sure you will enjoy it. Be aware that Tula ammo is not the best ammo you can buy.

If I we're you I'd avoid the cheapo ammo during the break in period. You're only begging for trouble if you use it. Stick with decent quality hardball for the first 200 rounds.

Welcome and congratulations. Don't worry about those shavings and take that thing out and shoot it. I hope you like your's as well as I love mine. Mine has run flawless.
Welcome. Please do not attempt to feed me, I bite.

And it's now "broken in". First 200 rounds(100 of WWB and 100 FMJ Federal) fed flawlessly. No FTEs or FTFs. The next 150(100 Tulammo and 50 steel-cased Monarch), guess what? Fed flawlessly. This thing is a beast. I got to the range really really late due to one of my "classes" running a little bit late, so I was seriously shooting it like my life depended on it. You might not believe me, but with a 6-rounder and a 7-rounder, I shot 350 rounds in 30-40 minutes.
That recoil spring is now a little bit looser, which is great. However, that slide stop is destroying my thumb. I also have quite a few blisters from shooting the damn thing. Also, not to sound like a pansy, but I shot about 275-300 of these rounds with gloves on - and it still hurt lol.
But besides all of that, even though I was shooting for time and not accuracy, this gun was really accurate. I'm just so impressed. This is going to be a great carry gun, but I do believe I need to get some sort of rubber grip for it as I found my grip loosening on it when firing 3-4 rounds in rapid succession.

For my CM9, I got the Qwik-Grip (http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1150&CAT=84) size 3. It has no swells or finger grooves. Just a great rubber grip that cushions and enables sure handling. If you want a fuller grip and finger grooves, the Hogue Handall Jr will work.

I think I'm going to order that Hogue Handall Jr. That looks nice.
