Hello, I picked up a used CW45 and using ball ammo it's seems to jam up between the slide and barrel periodically.

I have never had an issue with my CW9 witch was purchased new.

I did a clean & lube job including the mags.

go to the kahr tech section and hit on GB6491 cw45 fixes. might just be some worthwhile info there to help u.

ejecting a live round should be a IMO violent racking of the slide. It has to go alltheway back with some speed in order for tha tlive round to eject out of theway. I think ur babying it yet. Tight (new) recoil springs sometimes can cause this for we think the slid eis allthe way back and it isn't. Basicaly the gun is designed to eject an empty casing as u can see there is not a hell of alot of clearancein these small guns. I think with some more time with the gun, u will get the hang of it and be OK

That is happening when you hand rack a loaded round from the chamber? Or while it is feeding into the chamber?

What kind of ammo is this? On the Kel Tec forums someone had some ammo they bought at a gun show(unknown brand) adn they put up pictures of rounds side by side, you could see the bullets actually pressed in at different angles and heights. Just an idea to investigate, unlikely though

Mine did that until I tightened the slide lock lever spring, slide lock lever kept creeping out while firing, leading to FTF's.

Yes it is.

Take a look at this previous thread I posted for the answer to your problem. Then, see if your barrel has the relief cut into the hood. Also measure the OAL of your .45 ammo to see if it approaches or exceeds the SAAMI limit of 1.275". Good luck.

Your hand "racking" speed is too slow!

Thanks for the inside info. Time to send it in or get the files out.

Just a thought here (and taking into account variances between one CW45 and the next): if I retract the slide of my CW45 to a point similar to that as shown in the photo, the round is still held pretty firmly and nearly true by the extractor. Perhaps, the round in your pistol is being dislodged early by the magazine (had this happen with mine) or your ejector is longer or sits further forward than the one in my gun.

mayber an easy test would be to let another good shooter failiar with semi's etc try this extraction drill . We might be tryint to trouble shoot an issues that maybe in not an issue either..

I hate to beat a dead horse but.......

The Kahr manual specifically says to load the first round by releasing the slide stop with a full magazine.

Now, if there are jams as the gun is being actually shot....you got a problem.

Just my 2 cents and your mileage may vary.:19: (damn, we need a dead horse smiley :001_tt2:)
