Not sure; what does the magwell on your lower look like? Will it even take 5.56 magazines? Your best bet is to contact S&W and ask them.

From what I have read online, no it will not work. A few people have pointed out it states this in the owner's manual as well. So, if you have one, it might be worth having a quick read through.
I believe - open to limits of my experience - that all AR-15's take .22 conversions, but that many of the ".22 lookalike" have modified "cost effective" receivers, and are made to look like, but not function like the real McCoy. I know the DPMS .22 (if they still offer it) was built on a high quality AR-15 lower, can't begin to vouch for any of the rest.

No. It will not work. The MP 15/22 is not an AR15, but simply a look alike.

No. The receiver is polymer, doesn't have a provision for the buffer tube, and probably numerous other problems.
The M&P Sport is a great rifle for the money. Take a look, might be cheaper than you expect.
Edit: Brand new rifle for $569-$619. Great value in an AR. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=269621051
