Hi all,

Picking up my brand new Kahr CM9 tomorrow, and after completing the "prep" as recommended on the tech thread, I'll be taking it to the range to break in. I haven't bought the ammo yet, and wanted recommendations on what to buy. I know they should be FMJ, but any particular brand/weight?

Thanks! I'll post my range report after break-in is complete.

I generally use whatever is cheapest and available at Wally-World. Usually it's Winchester White Box, sometimes it's Federal Red box. Either one should feed well and be consistent.
Good luck with it.

I ran PMC, WWB, and federal through mine, plus a box SD ammo that I planned on using.

enjoy the first trip, don't rush it, take ur time, 50 rounds taker a break, relax a tad, then start again. shooters get tired but don't know it and then things happen that u don't want to happen.

yeah, i might just start with 100, and then finish up the next day. Depending on how it goes...

I shot 4 types of cheap ammo and did not have any jams or feeding issues. The gun eats anything - so far. Great little gun.

I just picked up my cm9 today, but won't get to shoot until monday. But I also picked up 200 rds of wwb and federal for the break-in.

I'm also waiting for my garrett silent thunder iwb holster to arrive...can anyone recommend a good magazine pouch that will also go iwb?

Check out Theis Holsters http://theisholsters.com/products.php
He makes nice stuff and he's got a super quick turnaround time.

Also, believe it or not, I have been using a horizontal nylon knife pouch. It's the perfect size for a Kahr mag 6,7 or 8 round. It's not IWB but it doesn't look like a mag pouch either. Can't beat it for $6.00

Cheapass Wolf or Tula steel case really gets it good and broken in.
