First I really injoy my Cm9 it's a great carry gun and great to shot. I just want a bigger 9mm for home range and some NRA class I will be taking. I'm have small hands so I'm leaning tord the G-26 or 17. But also like the Xd line and fan bass. I really like the look of the OD tack look of the these guns. Which way to go. They are both in the same price range.

If you're looking for a bigger gun I don't think you want a g26 that's a sub-compact.
Both companies make great pistols, you won't go wrong with either. Try them out and chances are you'll know which one feels the best.
If it were me I'd get an XD because I like the grip safety.

Either would make a fine choice.
Those new XD(M) 5.25" competition models are looking pretty good.
BTW, you can get some of the Glocks in SF (short frame). They are not slimmer (the G36 is), but rather a bit shorter in the grip front to back.

I would prefer the S&W M&P, American made and has changable back straps to fit your hand.

Had a Glock 17. It was a good gun. Sold it. Now I'm looking for an M&P. Just sayin'.

Another vote for the M&P.

If the choice were limited to those two, I'd take the XD.
I'm really liking the S&W M&P series the more I look into them. I like the interchangeble grip inserts that allow the handle to fit small medium or large hands. Just about to order an M&P Pro, 9mm with 5" barrel and green fiber optic front sight with hopes of competing in IDPA. Even if I don't compete, it's still said to be an extremely accurate pistol.

I'll suggest that you shoot these three and see which feels better, points better and shoots better...... Glock 19 / XDm / Ruger SR9c.
All excellent guns!

Agreed with SmokingGun. Each of those guns is going to have a different grip angle. For competition and home defense, when you need point-and-shoot accuracy, you really need a grip angle that matches your style. I learned to shoot with a Glock 17 and it's still one of my favorite guns. The grip angle is perfect for me.
The Gen4 models will have interchangeable backstraps to accommodate different sized hands. Do not go down to the 19, as far as hand size goes there is no difference between the 19 and 17, only grip length and barrel length. Also the full size models have a nice smooth faced trigger, the smaller frames (19 and 26) have serrated triggers which can be very annoying. If you have smaller hands you may even want to look for a 2nd gen Glock 17 as they have smooth faced grips.
Alot of people love the XD, but I never cared for it. The grip safety seems to be a real favorite for older guys, but is just an annoyance for me.

I have onwed an XD9 SC, I own a G26. both are great reliable guns IMO.
If your already a CM9 owner you might find the grip angle on the XD is more to your liking. I prefer the XD 1911 grip angle to the Glocks, but think the Glock26 carries a little better. It's not quite as blocky. I did not trade the XD for the Glock I actually traded it off when I bought the PM9. The G26 came later in a deal I could not pass up. If in the future S/A's make that new single stack model in a 9mm that Glock is more than likely gone. I like the natural pointability of the 1911 grip angle that is on the XD and the Kahr.

I'm kinda likin' the new XDS single stack. Gotta get my P380 first.
Between a XD and a Glock I would choose the Glock without hesitation; but only provided it is a gen3 Glock. However, I would much rather get a M&P than a Glock.

I'll go out on a limb here and be the only one to suggest it:
Honestly, stick with what you've got. I've got smaller hands as well and you are not going to like the fatter grip of either gun. As a matter of fact I am selling off my last Glock today. After YEARS of burning through many Glocks and different generations of them, trying to find 'the one', I've finally given up on them, they've never felt right to me.
