I have an extra "enhanced" Kahr follower that works extremely well in the 6 round magazine of my CM9. I am going to put it out there to forum members who wish to try it, and or replicate it. The 7 round mags are hit or miss........I do not like them for single stack 9mm application.

PM me your address and I will mail it to you. You must agree that when you receive it, you will post up on this thread that you have it. Keep it for up to five days and mail it to who ever PMs you his address..........so on and so on.

Feel free to shoot it, cycle it..........whatever, but don't alter it in any way. I will mark the follower for identification purposes with a red dot.

I have always been a fan of if it ain't broke, don't fix it. enhance the follower if you are having issues, but otherwise IMO just leave it alone. Just my 2 cents

Seems that more than a few CM9 owners are experiencing nose dives with the issued stock 6 round Kahr mag. This follower eliminates nose dives completely.

Hey Jocko, after listening to all the PM9 owner testimonials in this forum that the PM9 is in now way similar to a CM9 I would not expect any PM9 owner requests for the follower. (snicker)

u notice I said if ur having issues, there is a difference than just doing it because. I have no issues with follower mods, seems that they work when done right and at the worst u ruin a follower, not the end of the world. we know the PM9 and cm9 are identical guns from the magazine, lower frame and all internals. I would expect nose dive to be as common in the PM9 and the cm9, which IMO neither is much. Being most all kahrs have no nose dive isssues, then the followers must be doing OK. It could just be a totally bad magazine for what ever reasons.

why is it hit and miss in the 7 round magazines???

I've had intermittent issues with my 7rnd mag. Generally I just strip it apart and clean the hell out of it with brake cleaner and give it a very light lube and all is well. Make sure it's assembled correctly, etc. I don't count on it for SD, but take it to the range.

I think it's a ammo problem and not a mag problem. Some ammo works and some doesn't. Rather than alter the magazine, why not change to ammo that works? I have a 6 round mag that works perfectly and I have a 7 round magazine that works perfectly, why alter the follers?

Pretty much my observation as well. I demand 100 percent reliability and IMO the 7 round mag has fitment issues. Makes no sense for rounds to chamber smoothly.........and then jam if you happen to use the bottom of the mag for a finger grip. The slightest movement at the bottom of the mag will on occasion cause feeding issues.

As said.......ok for the range but that is about it. The 7 rounders I have here are going back and hopefully exchanged for more 6 rounders.

Interestingly enough though, I have Pierce Mag Extensions on my primary and my backup carry mags and have ever had an issue with either. So I don't buy the finger pressure idea 100%.

notice kahr has changed their mag extension floor plate to. Maybe now this 7 rund mag will work better. that butt ugly original is now just half butt ugly with kahrs new bottom floor plate.

Nope. I've used four types......the all metal SS floor plate, the new one, the butt ugly one, and the one I use on my 6 rounder now, which incidentally is a great finger grip and is comfortable in my large hands.

Any issues using that CW9 Mag base on a CM9? Mag snap in securely?
I honestly hate the Pierce extender. It pokes me in the kidney.

Yeah, I had some Pearce extenders laying around, tried them but didn't like the print they caused. The CW base will almost work on the CM with no mods. And, you can push the mag home in the CM9 if you hit it fairly hard. But, if you want it to fit perfectly, stroke it about 10 times on a piece of 400 wet or dry.

Some guys will sand off the front lip as well for a different look and it does look sharp, but functionally, I like the lip as a finger grip which is perfect with an upside down H-jr.

I have an inverted Hogue-Jr and love it. Gonna have to get a couple of the mag bases.
Thanks!
