Hey guys, literally just came from the FFL accompanied by my new CW45, and it's a sweet looking gun, thin to carry, lightweight, very inexpensive, almost too good to be true. Didn't get a chance to fire it yet, however I got home and chambered some Hornady TAP 230 grain JHP +P defensive rounds, and it failed to go completely into battery... Not only that, I had to reef on the slide to get it to eject... Is this part of the break in period? Will it do this when I shoot it?

Thanks,

Heath

Can't say about 45s but ....

What they said....

can only at this point talk about the p380, but I racked it 6 to 700 times before even chambering a single live or dummy round !!!

Then ... also as they said....

"Shoot it like you stole it" ...

^ Listen to them.

Clean and Lube very well and properly.Make sure your magazine springs are in correctly. Also make sure to rack the slide correctly. They say to use the slide stop to chamber a round because people frequently ride the slide.Make sure during your 200 round break in period to use ball ammo.

same thing happened to me!! had to send back to kahr,,they had to rework the chamber they said it was peening..came back and shot flawless..did you have to hit the back really hard to get to full battery??? and when you do you can't eject the cartridge right?? that was my problem!!

Yes! And the rear of the polymer frame is flaring or something, it's noticably worn ALREADY, I haven't even SHOT it yet..

that sucks , it was my xmas present and I just got it back last week,,the polmer is ok,,it's the chamber..It's called peening,,call kahr and get prepaid label,,and wait 3 weeks...good luck,,also check your guide rod the round part where the closed end of spring goes,,mine cracked due to me hitting it against a 2x4 to get to full battery!!
also this is my 3rd kahr I did all the prep and lube as per sticky..

UPDATE:

After clean, lube, and test fire, 50 rounds of Federal 230 grain round nose, gun functioned perfectly. HOWEVER, after taking it apart and cleaning it, I noticed the guide rod was imprinted from the recoil against the barrel lug... I'll post pictures later, anyone else hear about this happening?

Thanks

Heath

Interesting statement.. I carried my Hornady TAP 230 grain +P JHP loads in my Springfield XD 45 Compact, and it loved them, not a scratch on the nickel casing; after only CYCLING them through the CW45, they're all marred up.... Is this common in Kahr's?

Thanks
