EXTERNAL SAFETY on the new P9 series??? Is this really necessary or just a "Lawyer Thing" ?? The internal safety feature has served me well for many years and never malfunctioned. Wadda U Think ??

I think it has something to do with where the gun can be sold. Just like a loaded chamber indicator.

ur dead right surv: if u wanna sell in the comme state of Mass, where kahrs are actually made then it better have an external safety on it along with AN LRI and the constitution of the United states printed all over the top of the slide.

IMO having a external safety is not a bad thing either. at least with kahr YOU NOW HAVE A CHOICE

Some states, for example California, require a manual safety on new firearms. I did not know about a P9 with external safety, but the PM9 with thumb safety was introduced into the market for a long time ago.

Yes sir, like camel dung :). I strongly dislike any kind of external safety on a DAO or striker fired handgun. I do not like SA/DA semi-autos very much, but since I would carry it C&L like if it was a SAO I want to have a thumb safety on it.

well years ago, most semi's had an external safety, now adays we seem to have reversed our thinkin. I might have missed it to but I have not readof any one getting shot becuas ethey could not get the safety off in a shtf incident, but I have read about alot of ND due to stupidity of no safety.

To much lititagtion today also and I think gun makers know they are targets to, s they are gonna do as much as they can to make their guns safe but yet desirable to owners.

You are correct sir. Sometimes it would be so much better without lawyers.
