I got off my duff, the weather was nice, and I put some Gun-Kote (K-Kote) on my 10/22 project.

Time to get it all together... its got a Clark barrel, will have a Kidd trigger one of these days, nice blue/black stock... more pictures when I get it together

(edit, not a scratch.... frikkin cat hair...but only in the picture, not "in" the finish... whew)

The flash doesn't do the color justice... maybe some daylight pics tomorrow when I get done with my Sunday-Honey-Do's

Still left to be done - Accraglass the barrel to the receiver to eliminate all play. I've already machined the cleanout hole at the back of the receiver, so that a rod can pass from breech to muzzle, without dismounting the barrel.

I'll probably add some tweaks to the trigger - so I can get it going before the Kidd trigger is purchased (yeow... expensive, but its the best). Right now its a rather safe "hunting" trigger that I smoothed up and lightened back when I got the rifle. I usually can get a 10/22 down to around three clean pounds, so I'll give it some extra TLC

And... glass bed the barrel and action to the already tightly fit stock. I may just glass bed the barrel up to its balance point... then wait until the Kidd trigger is here before I do the back end - since the Kidd uses a non-standard trigger housing (and the bedding is done on the trigger housing which acts as a "hook" onto the stock).

Anyway, thats how the project is going. I wanted iron sights... might still go that way. This is just a fun gun, but fun... dunno what I'll do for sights yet.

Very cool! It sounds like you enjoy working on it. I know very well how funny firearm projects can be ... and expensive too :(

Expensive... aak... don't remind me... new tires for the truck this week.

I do enjoy it when I can get the time - this project is about three years old. I hoped the blue would be a little lighter, but... it is what it is.

Expense... TIME... waiting almost a year for KSG, already paid for!

Holy smoke ... three years old ! I can tell you that I would not be able to sleep at night if I started a project and it took so long time! I am sure you will feel extremely satisfied with your work the day the project is finished. Just make sure that it does not take another three years :D

I think I'm gonna do some "blue" work on the trigger... why not. I've got to make, then install a "rapid release", then I'll do that in blue, and the trigger itself in blue. And that'll be it - until I can get a Kidd trigger... which will be after some sort of optic.
