So, the Giants and the Patriots, eh? Not that I particularly care... but I like the commercials! And I do have a big-screen TV and recorder.

Think I'll skip it this year. I'm pretty disgusted with the Ravens and 49ers losing the games, as opposed to Pats/Giants winning the games. Besides, we saw this match-up four years ago - doubt it will be near as good this time around. Still can't believe today's games...

I haven't watched one tn quite a few years. I guess I should pull for NY since Payton a friend of the family and his brother QB's the Giants.
I'll be there. Not at the game, but at all the festivities.
My crazy wife even got tickets for the ZipLine ride (80 feet high, 800 feet long)

Frankly, both of those playoff games were exciting right to the end, with some excellent play by all four teams. The Super Bowl should be a close one, as well.
The Manning brothers have been a constant thorn in the side of Tom Brady and Bill Belechek.
I love it.

I think NE played their worst game of the playoffs sundasy, They were very beateable, but it just did not happen, I like the Giants but Brady is just tuff to beat even when they play a so-so game. Manning is not a Brady, he is good. It could be a good game and it could be a blow out to. Giants were also lucky last night.
kinda ironic a a Manning in the super bowl in Peyton Manning home stadium, only wrong Manning. Don't look to hard for P. Manning to be back witht he colts next season, they have cleaned house, they might just take that 24 million that they have to pay him come March 1st, if they are not totally convinced he is 110% and use it more wisely. He is 35+, maybe 2 more decent years left in him with a good "other offense and a defense. Thery will draft LUK and pay him 6.5 mill to sit on the bench behind manning, no one knows how that scenario is going to work either. These guys have more ego and pride than a pack of lions..

Two good games, but I had no horses in that race,so I really didn't care who won. It's shame only one of them could find someone who could sings a Star spangled banner the way it should be sung. That Kristin Chenoweth can flat out sing. That friek Steven Tyler should go to his room and stay there.
As a Colt's fan and season ticketholder, I paid for the right to my opinion.
Soooooo,
As great as Payton is/was, he should NOT play again. One solid hit and he'd be the poster boy for NFL injuries. I don't want to see him permanently disabled for a game and its money. I'd prefer to remember him as a healthy champion who gave everything he had for his team.
That was the sound of my two cents hitting the table.

That Kristin Chenoweth can flat out sing.
Amen to that! She did a fantastic job. Peyton will play again, he's too much of a competitor not too. My guess is it will be with another team though. And my pick, Giants over New England in a repeat of four years ago. And I'll keep an eye out for a Harley riding PM9 carrying Horse-head sending fellow!

The Star Spangled Banner is our nation's NATIONAL ANTHEM. It should be sung to the music and with the respect and dignity it deserves. I don't know why singers or "non-singers", in some cases, think it's about them and their perceived vocal range, but they should sing it so that the PEOPLE can sing along with it. I've seen just terrible renditions and people like Rosanne asked to sing the anthem just because they are celebrities. She's a comedian and she tried to make it funny!
I think it is a terrific song... and fitting, since it was written by Francis Scott Key held as a prisoner by the British on one of their ships as they shelled Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. He and everyone else awaited the dawn to see if our flag still waved... if the Fort still held its ground.
It's hard to sing... I try singing it all of the time and have to be careful not to run out of headroom. Even professionals can screw it up... without wandering about a capella... un-constrained by the MUSIC, as they try to show how great their range is... or whatever... Christina Aguilera... or the grotesque and absurd rendition by Aaron Neville as he pantomined strangling a mouse... while providing the sound effects!!!

I expect him back. I think they'll draft Luck and give him a year or two under Peyton to learn the head game from the master. That may be just wishful thinking, Peyton has been too quiet to draw any real conclusions. Everything is just pure speculation.
Lootts of 18 jerseys could be hitting the Goodwill soon.

My wife, son-in law and daughter are hitting the NFL Experience next week. If it's a knock down drag out madhouse, it'll be a short visit.
True on the speculation. If he's gone, I'll still wear my #18 jersey until it's a rag. He's been fun to watch and a real class act. I'm blaming management for not training up a backup quarterback.

Yeah, so will I.
Definitely true on the class act. My daughter has an appointment next month at the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.
Just found out: My daughter and son-in-law got tickets for the game.
They decided to bite the bullet and do it.
Now, I can live vicariously thru them as I sit on the sofa and watch the game on TV.
Be sure to watch for them in the crowd. They'll be the ones having a great time.:D

I think they should retire Peyton Manning while he is still relatively healthy. He'll probably end up in Kansas City, the retirement home of old quarterbacks, Montana, Orton, Warren Moon, Steve DeBerg, et al.

do a little research on Robert Kraft & what they have done for the community... Would have been no NFL season if not for Kraft. Thats too bad you would make uneducated comments like that. Even patriots players do a lot for the outdoorsmen and shooters in our anti-gun state. Matt light sponsors a "field day" at a local rod and gun with target & trap shooting, 4 wheeling, and bbq. its a great event that raises a bunch of $ for charity and is always fun to see famous athletes show up and shoot and helps raise some awareness for us "gunners"
who is your team? that answer would probably explain a lot...

I don't dislike New England, I just can't stand their coach. He's got the personality of a warm cup of spit. Under the definition of "Smug" there should be his picture.

I hope the Giants win but it doesn't really matter to me after my Falcons imploded in the first round...I only watch the Super Bowl for the funny TV comercials...To me the real football season ends with the AFC/NFC championship games....
Did it bother anyone who watched the Patriots/Ravens game that they allowed that gross looking freakazoid Steven Tyler to butcher the National Anthem...In his best days with Aerosmith all he could do is SCREAM out the words to "Dude looks like a lady" but to allow him to sing the anthem is an abomination and whoever decided to let him destroy the song like that should be shot...Even the players who mostly don't pay any attention to the anthem were looking at each other like WTF is that noise, kinda sounds like 3 tom cats in a running dryer...
On the other hand I thought that Kristin Chenoweth did a spectacular performance of the National Anthem before the Giants/49ers game and IMO one of the best I've ever heard....That lady can really belt it out!!!
The National Anthem??? Is that what Steven tyler sang? Sure had me fooled.:32:
Washed out has-beens are getting tiresome in the NFL. Madonna is the prime example. That old street hooker needs to spend her million$ on a remote island somewhere far, far away.

Back when Payton was at Tennessee, I went home to Knoxville for Thanksgiving one year and found out that he would be at my Mother's Thanksgiving dinner the next day. For some reason he couldn't go home that year. My parents were big supporters of Tennessee football and basketball, and it wasn't unusual to find players at their house.
You're right, Payton Manning is certainly a class act.

gotta wonder how in tghe how they find these singers. Makes one wonder if maybe the good singers just don't want to do it. Steventyler sucked when he was good IMO.:third:
Less than a week to go. Indianaplois is ready. Bring on the Giants and Patriots.
On Weds., my family & I are going to the NFL Events and they're going on the ZipLine..... 80ft high and 800ft long!!! I'm watching my grandson while the nutty members of my family ride down the ZipLine. I'm married to one crazy old lady.... I love it!:D
I've been wearing my Patriots sweatshirt in public since even before the Broncos justly got killed off in the playoffs. Given I live in Denver metro, this has not made me popular, especially at work and in the local grocery stores. However it has made my wife...a native, hardcore, New England coastie....quite happy. That's made all the body bruises and two broken toes more than worthwhile.

Just thought I'd mention that the KC Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, both donate a lot of money to the anti-gun lobby. That sucks since I live in Kansas and those used to be 2 of my favorite teams. Oh well, now it's Denver Broncos and the Rockies.
I think the NFL in general is Anti-Gun. They donate a huge percentage of the money to extreme liberal candidates.
They're probably trying to get their thug players to stop killing each other. It looks bad to the children.
I'm still pumped about this coming Sunday. Gonna be pretty exciting for Indy.

There's something about a dude in black & blue packin' a Kahr that drives those New England coastie chicks wild...it's the same here when I drop a piece of firewood on my foot, my fiance just loves it. As for the game, altho I'm a longtime Patriot fan ("Parilli drops back to pass, fakes left, launches a long bomb to Cappelletti streaking down the right sideline....TOUCHDOWN PATRIOTS!!!!!") I think the Giants will win by two touchdowns.
I could see that happening but I won't admit it.....and I really hope not. Last time it took wife close to three weeks to come out of deep funk and by then my head was about ready to explode.

Eli did it again! The most comebacks in a season in the 4th quarter. I won a very expensive Mexican food meal on the game!:D I really had no dog in the fight other than a bet! Good game tho. Now I wait on baseball to begin!:music: " Oh say can you see".

great game, my son spent two days there to. Indydid a super job, other than themotels just ripping everyone off like most citries do who have some big event, it was a total success. weahter was perfect. I think the Giants have the patriots number to, aswho would thinkateam with a 9 kand 6 record would win the super bowl.
course obama made it a even bigger success HE STAYED AWAY:D

Great game. Went down to the last few minutes. And Kelly Clarkson did a respectable job on our National Anthem. My friend was very unhappy that Brady didn't score in the minute or so the left him. He's a big Boston anything fan. I didn't really care much who won, just glad it was a good game. Glad I had some stuff to do at half time and missed most of Madonna's show.
