Hello all,
First post here. I am not a Kahr owner yet, but something about the PM45 is just calling me.
I, like many, am worried about the recoil making the gun less than enjoyable. No matter how much I try to talk myself out of it I still want that little thing. After a LOT of reading it seems these are tame for what they are. It is still difficult to come off the money never having shot one.

Anyway, I am pretty convinced in buying one at this point and the local shop has (what seems to be) a good deal. I can get a black PM45 w/nightsights for low $600's.

My main question is....Are there any identifications that might mark a specific series of this weapon. Also do any of those ID's lend themselves toward a gun less likely to have issues. I would feel better parting with the money knowing that I am not buying something that was built in 08 and is less likely to be that "perfect PM"

I am looking for something smaller than my current weapons...something that I can carry easily concealed and comfortably no matter what, without sacrificiing "protection factor". This is the perfect choice and is something i will likely carry for many, many years to come.

Thanks for any input! After snooping around in here awhile it seems like a great forum.

First of all, owning two PM45's I can safely say, they are not horrible in the recoil department. They kick like a small .45, which is a little more than a large .45 (ie, Officers vs Govt .45's). To me, its very manageable.

The 45's have a good rep for working pretty well. Of the two I have, one is older blunt nose, one is newer tapered nose. Serial numbers are about 1400 apart. The newer one was new in March, but Kahr replaced the frame in... forget when, over the summer. It functioned perfectly even with dodgy rails on the frame. I sent it in, they replaced it, both 45's have been flawless since then.

So just get yourself whats out there, its more than likely going to work great for ya.

My newest frame - replaced one - is SV42xx the older one is SV28xx
