Don't know if this will work for all, but my brother bought me some Hornady Zombie Max for Christmas. I noticed the shape of the bullet is much more conical than any other HP I've seen. Slapped some in the extended mags and, WALLAH! Mags work like they're supposed to.

Does anybody know why the bullets don't sit in the mag at the same angle as the bullet on the top?

Oh well, the flush mag is the same way and it works fine. Just thought I'd pass it on. I think reliability wise, just based on the shape alone, they'd have to feed better than any of the flatter tipped HP's.

But you can only shoot zombies with them, says so on the box I believe... kind of useless, at least for now.

Better watch out some people are pretty sore about them zombies max. Shouldnt say to much good things about them or you might get scolded.

Yeah, haven't seen any Zombies in my neck of the woods either.......:D

That's entirely due to Zombie Max.

To answer your question, I believe 9mm cases are tapered slightly, being narrower at the top. This causes the rounds to sit in the mag the way they do.

Aren't they the same as critical defense, but green?

I had never heard about it, but you are right, the shape of the bullet looks to be more conical than other HP. I cannot understand how Hornady can use this kind of marketing. I would not use this ammo for self-defense; I can imagine what the antis will say about this "super deadly" ammo. IMO Hornady Zombie Max might encounter the same problems than Black Talon.

they look like the plain old XTP bullets to me. I loaded a couple hundred of them and they ran fine in my CW9.

Yes, same shape, green tip instead of red and no nickel finish.

Mine have yellow tips, with brass casings. Doesn't feel like hard plastic, kind of squishy.

What's the knock on these?

Are they really not supposed to be used for self-defense?

Can you imagine the **** storm that you would brew up in a possible court case if you used ammunition 'meant only for zombies' in an SD situation? They are nothing more than a novelty item. I would not suggest using them as SD carry ammo.

Really, I thought that was just BS advertising.

Although, zombies are technically human beings sooo.

I suppose in the right light a bad guy could be percieved as a possible zombie, maybe definition 1.

BUT!
Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!

So, I guess it's a good thing I haven't shot anybody yet. Although I was tempted to wing that guy the other day.
Disclaimer: I did not and do not want to shoot anyone, that was typed for entertainment purposes only.

Why would they bother making something that according to this disclaimer can't even be shot at a paper target?

I'm sure they wanted to do all they could to cover their ass if anyone ever used it in an SD situation.

So you might as well save that ammo for the Zombie Apocalypses!

I'm wondering now if it will be legal to kill zombies. I suppose it depends on what kind, they usually move so slow I think my state would determine that I probably should have just ran away. But if there the fast moving kind I think it would be OK.
