Got 2.5" last night!
What a change from our drought last year!
Here at my house from February through September we got a total of 1.6" scattered around. Had three full months of 100 degree temps, plus several months of higher than normal winds.
THRILLED to have gotten just over 2" in central OK as well.

And for the brain dead idiots who drive into high water and need to be rescued, they should be left alone and allowed to drown. I am so sick and tired of seeing police officers, fire fighters, and paramedics risking their lives to save human boogers that need to expire.
Some folks are just TOO STUPID TO LIVE.

Reminds me of a Stevie Ray Vaughn song, "It's floodin down in Texas, all the telephone lines are down....(something like that)

Wish I could send some Ohio rain your way. We've just experienced the wettest year on record. My back yard is a swamp.

Rain in Ft. Worth is definitely a welcomed blessing! Wish I could have received it a few months ago. It would have saved my grass and a maple tree. Oh, well...more firewood for next winter.

Let the Darwin Theory run its course. It's worked for thousands of years and it has kept idiots from multiplying.
If you have a deep desire to lick your finger and stick it in a live socket, then by all means, have at it. If you survive, go out and drive thru that raging creek that's over running the highway (roll your windows down first).

Started raining here in KT about an hour ago.

Stay away from the fast moving water.
Peeing on the electric cattle fence is more fun.:D

I take it you've had a bad shift.

The song and album were named "Texas Flood". First album (1983).

Nope I just love to see the Darwin Principle at work. Some folks are just too stupid to live.

For a long time I've thought that the water problem we have in the US is that is doesn't fall in all the right places. If the Feds want to do some "shovel ready - yeah right!" job, why not build dams and large pipelines from wet to dry areas. Where I live we never seem to get enough, unless we get too much. If you lived here you would understand what I just said.

Barry BamBam nixed the Gas Pipeline for enviromental reasons. Somehow I don't think a water pipeline will be constructed for the bankrupt state of California. He'll just move the entire population to the Ohio valley. The project will be called TARP 6.

Turn it into that underwater country to which Dilbert keeps sending software projects.
Turn it into that underwater country to which Dilbert keeps sending software projects.
That country has be renamed.... from Nov. 2008 it was officially designated as Washington D.C.
All that goes into Washington D.C. turns into anti-matter that never sees the light of day again.

Halleluah! We got about 4 inches of rain in the DFW area. The lake is still way down...and the drought is not yet broken... but Im thankful for any amount of precipitation in any form. Bring it on! :D

Easy old fart. She has enough sense to know how to get her message past the nanny filters and not need a translator. Unlike some I know around here. BTW when do I get my super secret jocko decoder ring? Are we out of stock on those? FYI, don't send a horse head around these parts, that's a hanging offense here. :D

We had such a dry summer up here in Kansas that my well and many other's wells ran dry. We finally got some rain during the fall and I have water again, but it was a long stretch there with no water. I wasn't living here at the time, but when I did move in I had to replace the submersible pump which had a broken shaft from running dry too long. The ex forgot to turn it off when it ran dry. I guess they all took showers at her brothers a couple miles away, and had to cart water in to empty the toilets and do dishes and things. What a mess. We got annexed into the small town nearby, but they haven't run city water out to us yet. Waiting on some big developer I guess to build a bunch of homes so they can sock it to us with special taxes. The taxes here went way up once we got annexed and we don't have a damn thing to show for it, other than not being able to shoot my guns on my property, unless it's a shotgun, and the local yokel police department responds to calls instead of the Sheriff. I hate that. The local yokels are mostly a bunch of redneck jerks. I don't think they even do background checks, they had a guy on the force with numerous convictions for domestic abuse. They did finally let him go. Then they pull crap like setting outside of the supermarket, and write tickets to anyone that forgets to fasten their seatbelt. Their main thing is to generate revenue for the city, and not do a damn thing about the crime in the town. Oh well, at least it rained enough during the fall and we have water now.
