I have done a search on this and looked at other forums but would like to know other options. I have seen some have put on the Hogue jr. grips but I'm not fond of those. I really like some of the finger grips that pachmayr has but don't know which one would work. I called pachmayr and they said they don't make one for this model but if I would send them all the dimensions on the handle that they would see if one of their grips for other models work. Does anyone on here know which one specifically would work or have you tried any other finger type grips out there? Thanks for any info.

It doesn't have finger grooves, but I really like the Qwik-Grip (http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=84) on my CM9. That link is the best place to buy them. I have the size 3, but maybe the size 2 would be best for the CW45. BTW, it might look like it has finger grooves on those Glocks, but it is just covering the gun's grooves.

Welcome to KahrTalk.

Sorry I can't help with the grip stuff. I use a Pachmayr on my carry P3AT and Talon grips on my Glock but have found my PM9 grip just fine the way it is. Maybe with a .45 Kahr I'd be asking the same questions as you. :)

^^ What JFootin said. I also have them and they fit without trimming and are tougher than the Hogue Jr. May need to warm with a hair dryer to get on but once on they stay put and really last. Very inexpensive for such a good slip on grip.

Another thing I have seen is some CW45 owners get a sore on the first knuckle of their thumb because the back corner of the frame just above the grip is a little sharp and it digs into big hands. If that happens, just sand it and round it a bit.

This is the only picture I have, but it shows what the Hogue Jr. looks like on the CW45. It does have 1 finger groove in it. I'm not sure if you will find anything else available for a single stack polymer midsize frame with two finger grooves in it.

Thanks for the info so far, everyone. How did you get the hogue jr grips on? Did you just force it on or did you heat the sleeve up in some certain way before sliding it on? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, it wasn't a difficult fit. Just start with the top and stretch slowly to avoid accidental tearing of the sleeve. The really nice part is that the sleeve and frame both have a molding line running down the backstrap so it's easy to get things lined up. I didn't need to use any soap or oil to get the grip on the gun. I've never had any issue with the grip slipping.

I like the slide cut serations on the front of that one kahr, who did that work for u? if I might ask.

Nice grip stipplying to. I call that a "fightin" gun.:target:

Jocko,
Hope it's OK if I chime in here: that's his P45 that Robar worked on. It's extremely nice. I bookmarked this thread because of the photos of it: http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7813

Using rubbing alcohol makes it a lot easier to get those sleeve type grips on.

I think I'd prefer the stippling to a slip-on grip, myself. I've done the bicycle tube and it works, it just looks and feels cheap. And the Hogue etc. grips don't cover the whole thing.

If (c'mon, JR; think positive...) WHEN I get my CW45 I'll probably end up just sanding the cheese grater smooth in the critical places where the more delicate ladylike areas of my fingers touch it.

The dry winter weather is brutal on my skin, adding gun shred to my hands is just too much.

My PM9 is 360 degree stippled, I love it but no doubt if I tried to sell it or trade it, I would take a beating on it. Bike tube looks cheap but only you know that . I love my stippled PM9. They are working gun/defense gun, one should set it up theway he feels comfortabe with..

John, I know the Hogues often seem too short and ill fitting. The Qwik-Grip on my CM9 covers everywhere my hand and fingers touch the grip, and the bottom edge sits parallel to the bottom of the grip just above where the grip is rounded at the bottom. Perfect, and not cheap looking. And, boy, does it ever absorb any recoil and makes the gun so easy to handle with no chance of losing my grasp. I use the size 3, but I think the size 2 would fit just as perfectly on the CW45.

I just received my Limbsaver tonight for my P45 and so far like it. I just installed it hour ago and seems to help out with with the sharpness of the stock grip. It has has a sticky feel to it, but seems not to catch a covering garment.

There are no finger grooves and the tab that lies under the beaver tail is not felt when pistol is in hand. I will be shooting on Sunday, let you know how it works out.

Also helps if your hand size is on the large size, adds minimal girth.

JMek, I find with my Limbsaver grip on my CW45 that the opposite is true (at least for me). I have my covering garment get "grabbed" by the Limbsaver often enough that I'm looking into alternatives to it...the stippling job on the Kahr above looks pretty good...

+1. I find that my Qwik-Grip makes pocket carry impossible because it grabs my pocket when I try to draw the gun. But I decided that pocket carry of my CM9 just wasn't going to work with me and my skinny legs, anyway (big lump sitting on skinny leg when seated). So, I don't do pocket carry and sold my pocket holster. But I wouldn't give up the great feel and handling prowess that the Qwik-Grip adds to my CM9! Now, if (when) I get a P380 (hoping for CW380), I will leave the grip alone and carry it in my pocket.

Greg had it right. All the work on the P45 was done by Robar. They aren't cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

Thanks for the info. I have felt the Agrip that Kahr sells and like it alot but I just don't feel like paying near $30.00 for it.

I tried the Hogue and the Limbsaver. I liked them both but finally went with an inner tube. Covers the whole grip, thin, yet it cushions the sharpness of the grip.

I'm a fan of the bicycle tube slip on grip. I didn't like the way the Hogue looked so, bought a bicycle tube and cut it to fit almost the entire grip down to the mag opening. The nice thing about this method is that the tube is thin enough that I can still feel the stippling through it but the sharpness is gone.

Thanks for the info and the pic. That looks nice. I actually shot it for the first time this weekend. I put 50 rounds through it and didn't really notice the grip at all. I thought the way some people complained about it, that my hands would be sore or cut up but it really wasn't bad at all.

Yeah but if they have a PM9 can they hit anything with it? If I remember stippling doesn't help someone :D

Nice pic
It shows the cheese grader grip prints throught the inner tube because most people think an inner tube sleeve would be too smooth.

I'm too new to say that but I was thinking I must not have a problem with it since I have man hands.
