I was looking to add a owb belt slide/pancake style holster. I usually carry behind my strong side hip at about the 4 o clock position.
I prefer kydex or similar material to leather. any recommendations?

For my PM9, I have one of the Mitch Rosen belt slides (5JR-EXP) from the Kahr store. Link here. (http://www.kahr.com/PM9-Holsters/Kahr-Mitch-Rosen-Belt-Slide-HolsterRight-Hand-Black.asp)

I know you said you prefer Kydex to leather, but if you haven't tried one of these, you may want to. This is by far my favorite holster at this point. It rides nice and high, and is super comfortable to wear for long periods. I position mine a 4 o'clock like you do. Driving comfort is superb as well. This holster and my PM9 are the perfect combo for OWB carry. The quality is great for a $75 holster, and I have seen it go on sale in the Kahr store, albeit rarely.

If I go IWB, I prefer the Remora for quick grab and go. It's also very comfortable and doesn't move at all once positioned.

My third choice would be the Comp Tac Minotaur IWB. Very adjustable, but a little cumbersome compared to my other choices therefore it doesn't see much use anymore, especially in the winter when the Mitch Rosen OWB is concealable so easily.

I'll be curious to see what others are recommending in the way of Kydex. I don't own any OWB Kydex but wouldn't mind giving one a try. Who knows, maybe I'm missing something?

Good luck in your search!

Keep checking the For Sale section in this forum. For Kydex I would look at

http://garrettindustries.mybigcommerce.com/

They are leather lined Kydex and they are works of functional art.

Like Slieb, I got the Mitch Rosen 5JR-EXP for my PM9 from the Kahr site. It has worked perfectly for me. I wear it as you do at 4 o'clock position on my strong (left) side.

It's not soft at all but not as hard as Kydex:D

Agreed. I wouldn't call the leather "soft" but it isn't uncomfortable in the least.

I'm liking the look of that PJ Kydex Pancake. I might have to give one of those a try. Thanks for sharing, JFootin.
