So I shot my new P380 today and took the slide stop pin out to start cleaning. When I pulled the slide forward and pulled the trigger to get the slide off, it wouldn't pull off. I pulled the slide back again and moved it forward, pulled the trigger and it still felt like it was hanging up. I was hesitant to pull too hard, but put a little more pressure on it and it slid off, but something didn't feel right. It almost looks like the left hand rail is warped or something. Is that a common problem and do I have an issue here? I put 125 rounds through it today and had no problem. When I cleaned it the day I got it, the slide came right off. Thanks.

Cant say for sure on the P380, but my two PM45's and a PM9 suggest that some jiggling, finagling and finesse is needed to remove the slide after the trigger is pulled. Not uncommon to have to recock and pull the trigger again, to get everything "just so".

Thank you for the feedback, sir.

What works consistently for me is to pull the slide until it stops (on the cam) then pull the trigger and it comes right off. You will feel it slide back a fraction then release.
