Sorry Jocko, but I'm no longer a Porsche driver. My garage was awash in a sea of silver so I decided to brighten it up. I always get into trouble when I'm not working.

The only downfall to them car with no tops is the new car smell always escapes so darn fast. I never get enough of that new car smell. I never had it myself but I've been know to beg from people to open the door a crack and get a whiff.

I like when the city gets new trucks. I go out to the shop and sniff to my hearts content.

That's a right purty car O'Dell. You able to drive it with a out of commission wing?

Don't matter really, gotta be cool just to sit in it.

no apology needed, super nice car. love that engine. It should and it will run to... 2012 last year for vette and expect a totally new body style for 2013, but they will still stick with front engine..

Very nice Corvette

I've thought about buying a Shelby like the one I rented for my avatar.
But one week with that car and I had to put my hands behind my back.
That's a very funny story you will not get to hear....

I've always liked the sporty cars of most flavors. I used to go to meeting with my boss in his BMW some kind of special race version. It had a "kind of" 6 speed manual transmission without a clutch and the shift was a smaller stick in the console. It had more gizmos than I could figure out. After going with him a few times I found excuses to take my own car that I could get in and out of and didn't cripple my back. By the time the lease was up he hated that car, only took me a few trips across town.

So, you bought that from Obama Motors, eh O'Dell. And you call yourself a conservative. :) Nice ride.

NICE! Got the opportunity to rent one when we went to Napa Valley for vacation back in August! Loved it, almost enough to consider parting with a Mustang to get one. Definitely a blast to drive! Enjoy.

Very nice. How fast does it go? Some people say that nothing is faster than a rental car, so I was just curious if Vettes are faster since I've never driven one myself.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Vette around where I live. Might have something to do with gravel and snow-covered roads, and towing capacity.

Totally unrelated, but BG density out here is pretty low too, although I did have a stare-down with a pretty mean-looking bull elk last week. I let him off easy because he was apparently unarmed except for those big things on his head.

Those big things on his head are reason enough for me to shoot. Not to mention the Elk steaks. Damn, I just mentioned them. :)

Nice ride. When the new car smell is gone just dump a bottle of Hoppe's 9 on the passenger side carpet.

Off to polish my Yugo now.

I don't have the car yet - probably will tomorrow. It was just traded in Monday and has to checked out to be certified and detailed. Plus the money I'm using had to be wired from Singapore. The dealer was nice enough to give me thirty pictures on a flash drive.

Bawanna, yes I can drive it - it's a six speed automatic/manual with paddles. I can just put it in auto mode until I get my right wing operating.

Jocko, yes the C7 will be out for 2013. I saw one on Barrett-Jackson last weekend and they changed very little - nothing like the drastic change from C5 to C6. That's why I decided to go ahead and check off an item on my bucket list.

As to how fast, the factory says 186 - I doubt that I will ever find out if that is accurate.

O'Dell, that's a beautiful ride! Looks almost like a Ferrari with that red color and those wheels. What year is it ? Is it that high performance model that they had to detune about 165 h.p. to make it fair racing Porches and Ferraris? That transmission sounds like a lot of fun. Another Ferrari touch.

Hey, O'Dell!

An old friend, Verne Tomlins, (webmaster for Carolina Corvettes (http://www.carolina-corvettes.com/index.htm)) tells me he "almost never" puts his top up.

Here's hoping you have similar good fun with yours! :)

Edited to add: Hmm, I can't tell from this picture if this is his current car. It does not look like a convertible. I'll have to call him to see if he is still into gymkhana racing too.

The paddle shifter is fun! Also, the traction control button on the console is important. I found it about 5 miles from the airport on the way to turn it in... Was really torqued that I couldn't get the car to drift on canyon roads, now I know why...

I had to quit driving my toy for almost a year, hard to shift and steer with the left only. Went to only one event last year, all left handed driving. Bah! Now you'd never know it, abusing the car with two fisted fury again.

Glad to see new bling coming your way, and wow, what a beauty.
How's the right wing coming along? Started any therapy?

The surgery was two weeks ago and I started therapy five days later. I'm getting more movement but it hurts - I'll be in a sling for another three or four weeks.

I picked up the Vette today. Wow, it's an electronic geeks dream. Everything's programmable, and I mean everything. So far I've been able to get the stereo/MP3 changer, the clock, and the head's up display working. I love the HU display - speed, rpm's, G meter, and any warnings displayed on the windshield, right in front of you. Tonight, right at dusk, it said "Headlights Suggested". I had forgotten to put them on automatic. Oh, and I've been able to get the car to call me by name.

:D What's that? Studmuffin? Hunky BooBoo? Come on you can tell us!

The PT is a pain, to say the least. Great you're getting more motion. I was lucky for one round to have a very cute gal. The distraction helped.
Hang in there.

What Vickie calls me! ;)

Yeah, the therapy is a pain, but it has to be done. I saw my surgeon today, and he's pleased with the recovery. My therapy clinic has about ten female therapist and one male - Guess which one I've drawn the last two weeks.

Damn that getsome is quick with the good idea's. I guess there's no need for me to volunteer for chaufeur duties.

Gotta do the therapy, I've spent a lot of time with them and they are worth their weight in gold. Even the guys. Most of mine were girls and they were all good. Very dedicated folks for the most part.
