I just got my CM9 "New to Kahr" and I'm trying to take it apart to clean and follow recommendations on this site and I can't get the slide off. I have watched nemerous videos on how to break it down, but I am unable to push the round pin hard enough to get the slide release to come out. Will this get easier if I shoot it?
I would appreciate any imput.

Mine comes out fairly easy when I line up the lines on the slide and polymer base and turn it over and give it a good tap with the handle of a screwdriver, it knocks it out enough where I can carefully stick the blade of the screwdriver underneath and pry it the rest of the way out. My CM9 if fairly new so I don't know if it gets any easier to get it out.

I can line my polymer Kahrs up by feel, pushing on the slide lock pin with my thumb/nail while I hunt for the line up from the right side. If you NEED it, you can use a screwdriver handle as a small mallet to start the pin out with the witness marks aligned.
For prying the slide lock out on the lever side, you can get one of those polymer knives they have a the gun shows... the stealth glass-filled plastic ones, so you don't scratch anything.
The take down video at Kahr.com is very good:

Make sure the magazine is out of the gun. The slide stop won't come out if the mag is in place.

Mine slide stop was difficult to remove when I first received it, but it removes easily now. A rather sharp rap with a plastic hammer or screw driver handle should get it to come out. A CM9, like fine wine, improve with age.

The more you shoot it, the easier it will be to take down. I tore my nephews new CM9 down last night, for the first time, and the pin was a bear to get out and put back in. It needs a few rounds down the pipe, and it will all be good..

Yea, put a couple hundred rounds through it. The slide stop release (which is what your actually pushing out) has to be loosened up. Mine comes out easily with a push of my index finger, and my slide stop is easily flipped when I load a round into battery. Hope you enjoy your CM9, I'm in love with mine! It's comfortable for concealment and I have never had a single failure after close to 1000 rounds through it. Hope yours is good to you !

It does get easier. It is hard when the gun is new to completely keep the marks lined up, while using something hard like a screwdriver handle to push it through. After you get it apart, lubricate the part and it will become easier. With my CW9, it took several months before I could push it out with my finger and my CM9 has not yet reached that point so it is still too stiff without the screwdriver. Good luck.

My PM9 does, however the MK9 does not.

Sometimes I have to mess with the barrel at the ejection port to get it to where it will slide off easily. Pull the slide back a little after pulling the trigger, then slide forward and off.

Mine was tight as can be when I first got it. Like muggsy said you can put a screw driver handle and press it out one the marks are lined up. I think that's what I did the first time.
After you do this and shoot it a couple of times it will just pop out with your finger when you want to clean it. It will get MUCH EASIER. I promise.
