cw45 back from kahr,,shoots fine now,,when I use the slide stop(or go to use it) and put the loaded mag in...the slide automatically goes to battery by just inserting mag..never even touched the slide stop..is this a serious problem?? this has done this numerous times with diff amo..any advice??

Yep, that's a problem... especially if you happen to have your finger on the trigger.

The Proper prep sticky talks about the slide stop spring. It may be loose.

Just watch that finger.

My M&P 9 does it when enough force is used to seat the mag/not a problem for me. Speeds up my reload drills.

Yeah it's either Proper prep or fixes for CW and other poly Kahrs. GB had a nice pictorial on how that spring and screw should be oriented.

A simple fix if you know what your doing or happen to be Greg or maybe that's the same thing. Talks you through it really well.

some don't it should effect nadda. Mine will do itevery timeif I SLAM MY MAGAZINE IN, if I just push it in it does fine. My G19 works the same way.I would say that the slide lock lever spring on the left side needs alittle adjusting. Bawanna set u on the right track. look at cw45 fixs by GB 6421...

Or otherwise leave it alone..

slide stop screw is tight,,i noticed it will do it with sometimes with no mag,,all the time with a loaded mag.. also when I go to take that round out it is hard to pull the slide back to eject round,,and round is cut up on the rim of round .anyway I have several glocks and kahrs,,this never happened before,,I have to go buy a t-6,,the smallest i have is a t-20..thanks for the help guys..

Then ask kahr to send u a new slide lock spring. It might lookOK ut thereis somethng wrong with it. a #6 rtors is what takes that little screwout. It is ano brainer to replace but just snug the screw as it tightens only into polymer, snug is good though. Callkahr and ask for a new spring. I think that will take care of ur issue.

PM sent

i can push the slide stop pin out with my fingers very easily,,my cm9 I have to use the back of screwdriver,,and the cm9 has more rounds thru it than the cw45..will play with it tomorow when I get a t-6

That's another clue that the spring isn't oriented correctly. Look at the CW fix thread. He shows how to loosen and position. It also can be too tight.
As the same spring holds the take down pin as well as activates the slide lock fixing one correctly will fix the other.
Get the tool and get ready to drop two birds with one T6 Torque bit.

We should make a movie out of this.

IMO that slide lock spring screw is to tight, turn it back a quarter tur. That spring like Bawanna stated does two things andthat slid elock lever should not just puch right out easily. That is a sign that the screw is to tight... If u look at that slide lock lever u will see buy the flat part of the lever that ht epin has a groove in it. that is wehere that sprighy should lie when the lever is inserted. and the if u look at the leve ritself on the insde u willsee a smallgroove on that ub, , that is where that sprghy tip shoud lie when inserted propery. actually when u snap that leve n n place u should even hear alittle snap noise. I always put a dab of grease on thae slide lock pin and that little nub on that lever to allow that springhy to slide in place easier..

well,,put my beer down...looks like a bad slide stop,,not snapping into place,,had a t-6 in my tool box tried all different tightening levels,,it was a little tight ,,but the slide stop slides out to easily,,when put back in no "snap' sound at all,, also just touches that groove where spring should lie,, slide stop is def too loose ,,will call kahr on monday for new slide stop
