I have a Kahr cw45 and am generally pleased. A client owes me money and I was thinking about having them buy me a pm45.

What says the group, how much of an improvement will I see, seems more concealable.

Thoughts needed, thinking about doing the deal tomorrow.

I have a K9... all stainless steel and a P40... about the size of the CW45, AND I have the PM45. The PM4544N, black with night sights is a bit easier to conceal... shorter grip and barrel... the main differences. It's a tad thicker and is 5+1 and those are the main differences. I could have had any of the .45's but I wanted the most concealable... the PM45. With the regular magazine... the "flush-fitting" polymer-based one, I have plenty of grip. I would rather have the metal, really-flush-fitting base plated-type of magazine, but I stick with the stock magazine for CCW and carry a 7-round extended grip magazine for a reload in a holder on the opposite side.

I bought a Crossbreed Minituck... horsehide model... for my PM9 and all of my larger Kahrs fit it... the PM9, K9, P40, and the PM45. Each requires more or less belt tension for retention. Using a good gun belt, that's not a problem.

Certainly more concealable but most everything else is the same or similar. A little less grip to hang onto than the CW.
I have the PM45 and love it to pieces. Just a little more refined and smaller version of the CW.

I think you'd like it just fine.

+1 I own three Kahr models (P380, PM9, and PM45). The PM45 is definitely my favorite.

Huge thanks for the quick responses. Pardon the pun, but I think I'll pull the trigger on one tomorrow. My CW45 is nice gun, and had three trips back to the mother ship and a barrel replacement and good to go.

My CM9 is the best little shooter I have seen. My fiance commandeered my first one for her purse after she shot so well in a combat course and the second one I bought shoots as well as the first. Today, I shot a new Glock 26 gen 4 and the little Kahr outperformed it by far!

PM45 it is! Now how about the group thought on sights. I'm ex LEO and know how to shoot and generally believe after round one and the flash, night sights are useless and in self defense, you don't look at them any way.

Jfootin is a wise man that one. Like you I believe night sights are highly over rated. But the XS are such eye grabbers in daylight or dark that the night sight part is just a bonus. I like both the big dot and standard dot, don't really matter which.
