Hi,
This is my first post here. Looking into a PM9 for a light pocket/BUG/ hot summer gun. I currently have two modified XDs, (triggers and XS sights) a 45c and 40sc. Looking for something much smaller than the 40sc with proven reliability and good ballistics (sorry no .380 for me). Anyway, I'm a strong believer in JHP +P ammo for SD. I carried Federal 115gr +P+ JHP in my Glock for many years. Can the PM9 handle at least the +P in moderate amounts (100-200 rds/year)? I don't really need +P+?
Also, have all the bugs been worked out of this gun from a few years ago? My friend and a local GD, swears by them.
Thanks

yes the pm9 can handle 200 +p rounds annually no problems, I'm sure some folks run 1,000's easily.

They are made to shoot +p ammo, all day long. Very good gun. No outstanding problems. They even introduced the more economically priced CM9 a while back and people can't say enough good things about it and its older sibling.

I own an XD9 Service (4" barrel) and a Kahr CM9, the XD for home protection and the Kahr for carry, and love them both. The Kahr PM9/CM9 is a DA only pistol, with a trigger action/pull MUCH different than a Glock or XD. Make SURE you handle one, and preferrably shoot one, before you buy. The Kahr is very tight out of the box and it WILL take about 200-300 rounds for it to loosen up. The XD felt fully broken-in right out of the box. Both are equally accurate at 3-7 yards, but the XD is better at longer distances as can be expected with a longer barreled, heavier weapon with a lighter trigger and larger grip. I load Speer Gold Dot 124 +P (53617) in both, except when going target shooting at the range, without any problems.

I fire 200 of my rounds i wish to caary before trust it with that ammo. Mine is 124gr GD +P from georgia amrs and runs at 1165fps from my cm9.
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, the PM9 can definitely handle +p ammo. However, I strongly recommend to stay away from +p+. I do not like +p+ ammo; if +p is not enough for you then perhaps you should consider getting a PM40 instead.
