Hi,
Thinking of putting them on my soon to be ordered PM9. I'm 50 so my eyes aren't great. I have them on my XDs and like them. Just wondering if they will hinder pocket carry. I can barely see the stock sights without low powered reading glasses. Thanks

I hve had um on my PM9 for about 5 years, I pocket carry 24/7 in a desantis, I notice4 no difference what so ever. I like the sights, I am 68 my eyes (no line tri's) are so so, but this sight is very visible when u pull it up. . Mind u I don't consider it a tareget sight although I seen a video by a xs factoryt shooter that proved me dead wrong. This gun could shoot out to 25 yards so accurate it made me sick, but it wa snot wirh a kahr either. They are nice sights and for what you bought the PM9 for they will serve u well.
I will make a comment that after 5 yearsmy xs front big dot night sight is ceasing to be visible. I would say it is 75% less in visibility than when I first got it. Really doesn't bother me though. I have never ever contacted xs pe4ople to see what or if anything they wold do for me as I realize these are not lifetime light um up sights either.

Dang! They must have been a bit old before installed. That's one thing to check on when you're buying night sights... if the date is 5 or 6 years old... seen that in gun stores... they've already lost half their "life" as far as brightness. I had my K9 sights re-lamped after 12 years... big difference... and cheap with Trijicons.

I actually bought the xs sights from xs and had them installed, so I can't say what happened. I might just have gotten a low life set to. I think If I complained to xs they would do something for me but I would hav eto send the slde back to them more than likey and I just don't want to part with my PM9,for something thatI can surely life with ..

I just finally decided to plunk down the $120+ shipping for a X-S Big Dot set, since I've been reading whatever I could find about the X-S Big Dot sights for smaller pistols (specifically, for my PM9). Lots of informative posts in this forum--and very useful!
By the way, to quote Trijicon in their FAQ, "Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. It is an odorless, tasteless, colorless gas that reacts with the human body in the same manner as natural hydrogen. Beta rays from the tritium hit phosphors to create the glow you see. Tritium has a half-life of 12.5 years, which means that in that time the lamp will be half as bright as it originally was." Jocko's sights died an unnatural death.
I finally decided on the Big Dot sights after reading a more exact description of the front sight giving the dia. of the Big Dot as about 4 mm. That's a very little bit wider that the standard front sight I've got on the PM9 now.
(For some reason I kept thinking that the Big Dot was a BIG Dot, and that really kept messing with my head.)

It is a big dot but it's not that big. They do make the same thing in a standard dot but even the standard is much more visible to me. I like the standard on full size guns, where you might want to reach out a little further although I have no issues with the big dots at any reasonable range.
I can't hit squat out much beyond 175 yards with my PM45.
