Maybe someone can help with some problems I am having with my new p45. I'm a retired cop. My wife is still a deputy (she will retire next year). My grandson is on one of those travel hockey leagues which I almost always drive him to. Usually out of town so I carry. As I always do. But the wifey says leave the Kahr at home. Not allowed to rely on it in a SHTF situation. LOL .. Have to agree as I have little ones with me all the time.. Hate to say she is right. For now the G23 is back.. Here is the problem:

Have 400 rounds through my P45. Had to clear the weapon constantly as it had too many FTF's to count. And I noticed the slide stop started backing out jamming the slide. Closer inspection I see they used a tiny torx screw to hold the spring in place. Looks very cheap. Paid a lot for this gun. I own 3 glocks and never once had any such issues. Also feel there is just too much slop in the barrel. Love the way the gun feels in my hand. Small hands. So I am a little bummed. What should I do guy's and girls? Appreciate any advice anyone can give. :(

Yeah but! Aww nuts! Hey... I can still outshoot her.. LOL. With my G23. I'm going to keep picking away at it. I'll start by sending it to Kahr and let them have a crack at it. Hopeful. Damn it the gun just feels real good in my little hands.

This video might help with the slide stop tension:

The idea is to adjust the position and tension on that spring to get the right amount of pressure on the slide stop lever.

Regarding the FTFs, does the second F stand for Fire or Feed in this case? If you're having nose dive feed failures, try this thread: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1612

Jump to post #2 in that thread and start reading where it says "The follower simply needs to be made so that it does not contact the latch at anytime." - you can do a search in your web browser to find that text.

The idea here is to sand down the follower to eliminate the possibility that the magazine release is hanging up the follower, creating a nose dive scenario.

Since you're not using this gun for carry right now, you have very little to lose by fiddling with these items, and much to gain if they work out for you. I never had to mess with the slide stop lever spring, but I did mess with my magazine followers with good results.

Feeding problem. Going to let Kahr have a look at it. I believe they can make it better.

Kahr will get the gun right. 1st priority is 500 or 1000 rounds of good quality American made FMJ ammo to break that puppy in real good. I'll let some of the 45 owners tell you what and where to get the best deals, though WWB or Federal at Wallyworld usually does the trick.

You need a really good leather holster that will last as long as the gun and longer than you. My highest recommendation is one like this from James Deasn Gunleather.

He is a member here (jlaudio29). He is the most talented holster maker I have come across, who make his holsters using finest Herman Oak leather, hand stitches them with not a thread out of place, molds and shapes them perfectly to your gun, puts a rich deep finish on them, and shapes and finished the edges of the leather better than I have ever seen. His holsters fit perfect and ride perfect, and at the price of more common mass produced holsters.

Check out my thread about this holster.

Here is a thread with lots of great pics of some of his holsters.

He will do any color or combo. And he will do exotic trim at extra cost, of course.

Here is a tuckable right handed one with shark trim.

Rhome Desbiens works with a lot of LA area LEOs to field test his designs. He himself brings a lot to the table. Check out this beauty, his IWB #3
