Well I got a new PM9 Mon and I went to the range today I ran through the prep before I went to the range, well the good part first - no ftf or fte run like a top and its a real tack driver ran 75 rds through it now the bad - I couldn't get the 6rd mag in the gun after reloading so as I inspected the mag and I see that it had cracked on the back top of the mag not the follower but both sides of the weld had about a 3/8 crack in the metal itself, and it was kind of bent backwards a little, enough where it would not go in the gun. has anyone heard of the metal of the mag cracking? I called Kahr CS they said send the mag and the gun in and they'll check it out and see if the gun itself cracked the mag or what, so what do you think?? any opinions ? BTW I was using Fed American Eagle 115gr. its on its way back to Kahr now.

I hope kahr picke dup the shipping tab for you, they should.
wehave had cracedmags before, not sure ifit isgun related or piss poormag construction. My thoughts are thqat when they want the gun back it is anindication that smething in the gun itself iscausingit. They will fix it fast ad surely to. a shame but betternow than later..

Let us know the outcome...
Zertek;
Nothing new here with Kahr mags splitting down the fold(s).
I had the same results as you the very first day that I shot my PM9...two out of 5 mags split in the very same location.
This is becoming a very common occurance with the POS Kahr mags.
Kahr had me send the mags and the pistol back. The sent me a pre-paid label via e-mail.
They checked it out (?) and found nothing, nada, zippo, wrong with the pistol. They replaced the mags with no other comment(s).
The first time out with the replacement mags...the followers broke.
An e-mail to Kahr and they replaced the followers.
The good thing about all of this, Kahr CS is pretty good at what they do.
Now, if they could only get their mag supplier to be as good.

That mag pictured looks like it is 100 years old and has fired a million rounds. What is all the discoloration marks from?

I am waiting to get my Cablelas gift card then going to buy a CM9. This tread and others is concerning to me and I am able to purchase something else with my gift card. What % of CM9's have a problem do you guys think. If it is low I really like the CM9 but had no problems with my Beretta and Rugers so an LC9 would work too. Looks like blood on that mag did it bite the owner as well as crack.:rolleyes::confused:

Like I stated previously, they are from day 1 at the range with my NIB PM9.
Discoloration? Are you referring to the blood on the mag body? If so, that where I cut my finger when dealing with them.

Yes, bood. The razor sharp edges of the mag lips and my tender skin did not go well together. :D

I'd stick with your CM9 plan. I've never played with the LC9 but several say its not nearly as nice in several areas. Very few issues with the CM9 in the overall scheme of things. We actually haven't heard much about the mags splitting to much lately either but apparently it still happens.
They'll take care of it regardless.

Thanks Bawanna I really want the CM9 mostly for the smooth trigger and other things of coarse. I appreciate your "feed back". :yo:
